Where's Aiko? Oh, she was busy being too tired to hike. Even getting Shin to come out was quite tough and he only came after a 15 minute talk with mummy. But, as you can see, he had a great time once he was out and he had more energy than all of us. He literally did not stop talking nor get tired the whole hike!

He is sooooo cute! I always love to see kids running around. Regrettably, it's not unusual that adults barely have time or energy to take kids hiking etc. I'm glad you did and Shin enjoyed it!

Thanks to Strawberry Mochi for inviting us to the hike! I wasn't planning on making a video out of this, so it's a relatively short video and I didn't catch many snippets of her, sorry. Actually, the lazy talker part is about how he doesn't always properly pronounce all his words, even though he knows how to. It's true though, that when he's telling his stories, he's not necessarily thinking about those he's talking to. Very different than Aiko, who's very aware of others. That's also why Shin doesn't care that much about talking in public, whereas Aiko is very shy.

What I like about your videos, and what made them different from others, is how they're from the perspective of a child, even you, as an adult you're watching Japan from the perspective of your kids. I think it's awesome. Also the quality of the video and the editing is great too :D

I happened to see a video I took (private) of our first Christmas in Japan and he has definitely improved. He's kind of like me, which is a lazy talker, so when he's talking normally, he tends to slur words together and not pronounce things properly. For example, I drop my g's, even though I know how to pronounce them.

Now that you have visited the caves, I am reminded that I also visited caves in Kamakura. They were lit and decorated with vignettes. I didn't like them. In Kamakura, I spent most of the time onsenning and strolling the beach. As far as 'hiking' goes, there was a bit of Canadian walking, but no hiking per se.

Beautiful video, it's always really interesting to see how nature varies in different countries, though it looks like this hiking path was a relatively 'sculpted' environment. Was that the Kamakura Minamoto mon at 3:08?

I think the game was rigged from the start. The scoring seemed very arbitrary to me. You should demand a rematch. Aiko could referee. She seems very fair-minded.

Hiking is so cool in Japan, it seems so easy accessible :) In London we'd have to take like a 4-5 hour journey to more suburban areas or the countryside

Wow, that far! The surprising thing, is that from central Tokyo, you can find hiking within a 1-2 hours train ride. I'm not surprised anymore, but the food stalls and vending machines were surprising, especially at the top of a hiking trail.

I went to Kamakura last march for cherry blossom, it was definitely one of the most beautiful places I've been. Cant wait to go there again! Great video as usual guys 😍
