The Pacific Northwest Vlog is a documentation of my life living on the Olympic Peninsula. My goal is not to encourage you to move to the Olympic Peninsula, but more to encourage you to enjoy your life today, as it is, in this moment. And find ways in each day to slow down and love this experience of life, because it's the only one you've got. If you slow down and find that you're not happy where you are, I hope you have the courage to change that and build a life that you love and that makes you feel joy for being alive.

My favorite is Hoh River Trail in the winter. It's so gloomy and nice. It's just so beautiful.

The ultimate Olympic experience is to take the next step and spend the night on the Olympus summit. City lights from Portland to Seatac to Vancouver and Victoria are visible and are spectacular glows in the distance in a sea of stars. In August-early September crossing the glacier isn't difficult, as all the hazards are exposed. Ropes, crampons, ice axes and minimal training are required.

Hiking/kayaking around Lake Crescent is my favorite. And also near Lake Quinalt. I fish that area a lot of salmon too

I live in Port Hadlock, and I love some of the "entry level" hiking places we have over in this area. Marrowstone Island has some great places to walk. And I love the Larry Scott/Olympic Discovery trail coming out of Port Townsend and ending in Forks. I am hoping to one day be able to do that hike. Ive done the hike from 4 Corners to Port Townsend, and that is a really beautiful trail. When you are talking about the toll booths are you talking about getting a Discover Pass? I have a lot of ambitious dreams when it comes to my hiking but physical limitations that I have to deal with.

I think it’s amazing that you are working towards your dreams despite those limitations. That’s inspiring 🤍 when I’m talking about toll booths I am referring to the national park. You have to pay to get into the park in some places

Any suggestions for seeing the Olympic Mtns when visiting in June 2023, given Hurricane Ridge closure? Thanks

Hi! I am here now to photograph a wedding and the road to Sol Duc Falls is still closed. The bride and groom did not know they closed the road. Could you recommend anything with scenery and possibly shorter than 2 miles?
@alexirossi
@alexirossi Год назад
Yeah they tend to close that road in the off season. Maybe lake crescent area? Marymere falls trail or the surrounding area

Do you know if you can access the Lake Angeles trail head without tire chains in March? I see you said they moved the toll booth forward, so you have to pay, I wasn't sure if tire chains are required beyond that point.. I am coming from Florida for a few days, so i am trying to get as much info as possible.

The Lake Angeles trailhead is still in front of the toll booth. The road is almost always clear up to that point.
