Thank you for your beautiful video and narrative. I was in Tibet in 2015 but not here. Makes me want to return and retrace your steps. The mountain peaks and turquoise lakes are stunning.
Wow amazing, I have yet to go to Tibet, definitely on my bucket list. There are still some travel restrictions in Tibet, but not on the Western Szechuan and Qinghai side, but it’s also a lot more developed.
This year i am 52 years old and about to travel from Thailand to Yading. Thank you for the information and wonderful videos. You are the inspiration for me to travel. I know i can do it.
Fran...so beautiful. Really happy to see a new video from you. Thanks for including your mom! Why do people wear mouth and throat covering that are held in place by the ears?
Thank you for making this beautiful presentation. I have been interested in trekking there but it looks like it has been turned into a theme park. Are there any tracks left where you can camp?
Breathtaking sceneries. I would really appreciate if you take time to reply these questions. I am foreigner studying in China for the last few years. Since the covid has eased out I feel this is the perfect time to explore this amazing country. 1) is July/August a good time to hike the short trail and the long trail? I am looking for 1-2 days trekking, so I think it's perfect. 2) can I get to riwa from chengdu on a train? If not how can I find a bus? 3) is there any hotel in riwa that accept foreigners? 4) do I need a guide? How many hours did take to cover both 5 color and milk lake on the first day? Thanks in advance. 😃

Hi Fawn! I've just binge watched all your Asia videos as I am studying for a year in Hong Kong and want to make the most of it! Your videos are super inspiring. May I ask how did you find and book the bus that took you from Chengdu to Riwa?
Hi, do you use the app Ctrip? There are many options, search for chengdu yading bus there is a bus that departs at 6am daily, that one does not make stops except for bathroom breaks and lunch. There's also another one that stops in Kangding, and then it goes to Yading next morning. Otherwise, there are many packages where it's bus + hotels and you can different stops along the way. It's also possible to fly there, the bus is not the best, if you have enough people, getting a private car might be better, the flight is also not that expensive and is a good option.
Yes, you can stay in Yading village, it's inside the park....some people also camp, but you would need to bring your own equipment. I stayed in Riwa, it's a city 15-20 minutes away from the park.
Hey!! I might need some travel advice! I am currently in Thailand and going to fly to Xishuang 🍌 (1 hour flight) , flight to Lijiang, and take cable car to Jade Dragon Snow mountain at 4760 meters, then will visit Meili snow mountain (6700 meters, unclimbed) and then take bus from shangri la, Yunnan to Yading. Just a tentative plan tho. Want to know how to book the bus ticket, thinking bus from Yading to Chengdu. I overheard that there are l scams sometimes, the bus driver might dump tourists at an area if not enough people on the bus…
Hey, you can buy the bus ticket online on any Chinese map app like (Gao De) from Yading to Sichuan, however note the bus does not pick up near the reserve, but in the town of Yading, which is an hour away. You can also see if the hotel can arrange any car share.
@@travelwithfawn thanks a lot! I recently learned to use GAO de map. 🗺️ Very useful. Did see the bus route! Seems like it only allows Chinese ID 身份证 to book for a bus ticket. I have a US passport :/
