I enjoyed Ben a Chroin and An Castiel a lot, some good tricky enough scrambling. Even though the visibility was about 20 metres when I did it. Not sure if it's less or more scary, just looking down into a cloud😁
Cracking day James. I love hills like the second one with lots of wee tops on, somehow feels really satisfying going over them all, and wandering around for different views. Good stuff, cheers.
Quite handy for Glaswegians but heck of a drive for you. Don't scunner yourself - it's such a big undertaking if you have a job and other responsibilities. You do such a fantastic job that your audience will appreciate you however you choose to do your round. I'm still working on mine after 35/36 years😂.
There is that wee path just before summit on An Caisteal that has a sheer drop off to right...not happy going up,even less happy on way down! Well done, great hill.
Not far from the hoose for me these ones James and been up them countless times…enjoyed watching your trip and your right, complex wee tops and quite dramatic. Had that Munro low recently too after catching some virus that’s going about 😂. Looking forward to the longer days and maybe catch you down this neck of the woods 👍👍👍Paul
Great area Paul, I will be spending a fair but of time there so might see you 😁👍 Hope you have recovered from the virus & get out and about soon, it can only get better from here I suppose! Cheers, James
Well worth the 3 hr drive from Inverness. Great views and great weather. Once again thanks for all your efforts to help us to join you on your Munro journey. You will never know how much pleasure and satisfaction we receive each time we view your videos. Like life Slioch was a disappointment but think of all you achieved. Navigating your climb through thick mist etc and still getting to the top. Well done and all strength to your elbow. Look forward to your next video Phillip Earnshaw.
It sure was Phillip, thank you for your kind comments 😁 it can be difficult at times trying to film the long routes but always worth it to watch back in the future, Cheers, James
Awww mate - An Caisteal and Beinn A Chroin was a brilliant day when I done it, had a lot of fun doing these two. A mate came along who doesn’t do many munros and isn’t overly keen on doing then but he loved it with the scrambly/exposed section. Great video as always 👌👌
@@ScottishMunroJourney it started snowing just before reaching the 1st summit and it never let up, James. However, the quickest route down was over the 2nd Munro! Good day had by all!
Cracking video as always James, you certainly got lucky with the weather again. Looking forward to the clocks going forward and the longer days. I’m in the hills of the Lake District tomorrow, so looking forward to that. Thanks again for sharing your day. 😀🥾⛰🏴
Great hills around that area 👍 A 3hr drive ? What a shame 😅 that's what I have to do now to do most of my remaining munros .. 184 for myself .. Have you done any of the Lawers range ?
lovely vid - what's your main source for munro routes- or is it a bit of a mixed bag - always on the look out for good routes and looked like you got a good one there - nicely varied
Did these 2 back in early Feb. Admittedly from a significantly smaller sample of just 13 munros, these 2 have been my favourite day out by an absolute mile so far. Have you done Ben More and Stob Binnein yet? They're 2 that are reachable in a day for me from Uni, but have only heard bad things about the climb. The views of Ben More during this walk only enhances that feeling, so just curious what your opinion of them is if you've done them - just realised James said said he hasn't done them so this question applies to anybody willing to answer? And as always fantastic vid, this is my favourite channel right now!
What you see on Ben More and Stobinian is what nyou get - a good physical workout with great views inthe right conditions. The southern Munros are characterised by much more climbing than the north due to the dearth of ridgelines.
Fantastic, can see why they are your favourite 😁 I havn’t done Ben More like you mentioned, but have read the climb up is direct & straight to the top 😂 you can kinda see it from the views in this video. Thanks for your kind feedback 😁 Cheers, James
Great video ,im heading up here on saturday ,is it ok to just do one munro ? Im planning on doing an caisteal on its own ,im going on my own and dont like to try to do to much if im on my own
