It’s always a wake up call when you haven’t hiked for a while.

Thanks for watching William. Do you plan to do the traditional route?

Nice wee video mate. The right decision, if you’re not feeling the love and enjoying it then it’s a no brainier. The mountain will be there for another day plus you avoid the bogfest off Beinn a Chroin lol…..take care Steven 😊👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Thanks Steven. I’ll give it another bash in future when I’ll hopefully get a view up there for a change 😂

Sounds like the right decision. A good day out might've turned into a grim slog.

Looking back it was the right decision. By the time I got back to the car I was more tired than I expected, so I’m glad I didn’t do the extra distance through the bog.

I'd be going back that way as well. Anything to avoid the long bog 😭 Nice video Alistair 👍

I went up Beinn Narnain last week but as I got to the last third the thick cloud came in just as the proper scrambling parts began. I aborted the climb, was gutted but was on my own, visibility was poor and with the scrambling ahead I turned back. I think safety first, the mountain will always be there and shall return.

Always better to stay safe and go back another day. I think with the Beinn Narnain scramble section you’re almost hemmed in by the rock on either side.

Absolutely the best decision to get off when things don't feel right. Just remember there's two summits on Beinn a'Chroin too (i found out the hard way 😂). Excellent stuff as always and good to see this hill through others eyes.

Was the right decision on the day and having been round the route before I was happy to give Beinn a'Chroin a miss this time. Might visit them all again for a camping trip in future.

@@HighlandHikers live to fight (or climb) another day I say. I enjoyed the whole range and would probably like to head back up for camps but I need to get my numbers up for the Munros overall. Great to see you out and it's helped spur me on too.

I’m starting to get out of day trip range without long drives. Have a few left within a decent driveable range but will be looking at weekends away soon enough

i am planning to do those 2 hills this year i did the Beinn Cabhair last year again that was a bit boggy and plenty of midges but still enjoyable safe travels

I know your pain over past six months , it takes a wee while to get the fitness back after a fairly long layoff. Hopefully we're both heading in the right direction. 😂

Another day Alastair! You got yourself a nice wee audio recording device there? Any good? Audio has been my nemesis since day one! Paul

Aye will go up again in future, but may be a while! Yeah it’s not too bad although a wireless mic is probably the best way to go. Less faff but a bit pricey.

Definitely made the right decision on turning around Alistdair. I completed the range two weeks ago finishing on both of these and was in the clag the whole time except for the descent from Beinn a Chroin where both munros opened up which I suppose is every hillwalkers luck 😂. Scramble was okay on Beinn a Chroin which took a bit of effort but got up it without too much hassle.

The first time I did these I never saw a thing from before An Caisteal summit and till after Beinn a’Chroin summit. Didn’t fancy repeating that 😂 might try the pair on a longer hike once fit again.

Another great video. Being cheeky what app / software do you use that plots out the map and shows interactively within your video?
