Hiking The Great Channels of Virginia

On the second hike of my recent road trip I headed up hiked The Channels in Virginia. I’ve heard a lot about this place but had never been. It’s not a terribly long hike and was mostly private gravel road and old forest road bed. The Channels themselves, however, lie just below an old fire tower amongst a maze of rock and tight trails.

My grandson and me are headed up there in the morning,it's his favorite place to hike. That retreat is only a few years old,you use to be able to go over and walk around the old cabin before that. The locals call the channels the wind tunnels.Nice hike!
