Hiking the James Edmonds Trail!

I've heard good things about the trails at Black Rock Mountain State Park and the James Edmonds Trail particularly. So I loaded up Gobi and headed up to camp for 3 days. The plan was to fish one day and hike the other. The fishing wasn't so great but the Black Rock Lake is a lovely lake. The James Edmonds Trail didn't disappoint, though, and was as tough as I've heard! If you go, don't miss the 50yd or so spur to the Lookoff Mountain overlook!

I remember thinking this is an easy trail till I made the assent at the end, one of my first hikes, definitely worth the hike. Great video!

That was a great hike! I always worry about slick trails. In the summer here they get loose gravel and dust on them that makes traction tricky. I'm amazed the chanterelles were left. Around here, they'd be gone. Thanks for sharing! You've got a new sub here😁
