Your channel deserves more views. Loved this video and the hiking guide! The production quality is awesome. It's definitely got the relaxing feel of a Kraig Adams video, and it's great to see Alberta hikes represented! Keep up the great work and looking forward to watching more of your videos. Much appreciation from Calgary!
I’m still new to RU-vid. Also very new to filmmaking and video editing. I’ve been studying hard to improve the quality! The views will come if I keep at it. And I appreciate the compliments, it encourages me to keep making these videos. Follow along on Instagram if you have an account. I’m looking to share more videos of more trails soon!
Great video and job explaining the routes to take at lake Ohara! This is probably the best video documenting the trails. It was really helpful in getting a complete visual of what the area looks like. My wife and I just came back from Banff and Yoho NP. We enjoyed hiking the trails including the Big Beehive. But we didn't have reservations for Lake Ohara. Plans are to make our reservations for next year. Thank you! Looking forward to seeing more of your videos.
This is the best video about Lake O'Hara I have seen. Awesome work! I am going for the first time in a couple days. This is really helpful. Thanks for putting this together.
What an informative video you made! I cannot wait to share the video with my partner! We were lucky that we were able to book 3 nights for this summer this morning :) Now I am gonna go ahead and check out other videos of yours.
This is the first video so far I’ve made with a guide component. I’m working on making guides for other hikes I’ve done for the summer. Still new to this video editing thing but I’m interested in making this some sort of a series! Thank you for your interest.
Excellent video for the Alpine Circuit! Thx for sharing… how crazy are the ledges? I read a review where someone was freaking due to “one wrong move would be death”. Keep up the good work!
that statement is true, as tripping and falling would be deadly. If you're a beginner hiker it would be terrifying for sure. However, I think the ledges are more than wide enough to make it across comfortably and safely. Just take your time and be careful. I used to be very scared of heights but I've grown to become more comfortable with it and think its doable. It really depends on the person.
I loved your video!!! Specially when u explained everything in detail!!!! I'm planning to go lake Ohara in 2023... The problem is.... Where can i rent a tend and sleeping bags close there? I'm coming from México anda i can't take all those stuffs from here!!! Any advice? 🙏🙏
Unfortunately I'm not too sure about that. You can look and see what's available in the town of Banff. Or, if you're flying in from Calgary try and see whats available in Calgary.
Thank you for this incredible video! We will be camping at Lake Ohara this August for the first time. I am wondering did you book your last minute reservation on the website or through the Lake Ohara office? Also, did you ask the warden about whether it would be possible to stay a second night? Thank you for any information!
No guides for this trip. Did my research online and spoke to parks staff. Thanks for the compliment, the views definitely made it one of my favourite hikes of the year.
beautiful beautiful video. a few questions for you: i noticed the conditions were pretty slick when you did the alpine circuit. did you feel safe while you were hiking it? were the some parts which were a bit dangerous given the conditions? also, what was the horsefly situation in that area? i was in Banff NP last summer and some areas had swarms while others had very few. thanks for your terrific video
Compared to other trails that I have done, the trails are very well maintained and marked. It can be slick depending on conditions but I had no issues with slipping or anything like that. I felt fairly safe, but that is subjective. In the past, I definitely may have been afraid as some sections are narrow with drop-offs on the side. For example, the Huber Ledges. As for the Lake O'Hara area, I had zero issues with bugs. No flies or mosquitos. That may have more to do with the colder and wet weather we had. Feel free to shoot me a message on instagram or Facebook if you have more questions.
What time of year was this that you went! I’m going early june this year and i know that isn’t the best time but sadly it was all me and my girlfriend could afford this time, do you have any tips/ what to expect?
This was the end of august , very close to September now. Expect that parts of this trail will still have snow and may not be suitable to pass. You may be able to do parts / sections of this trail. Use the maps and ask the staff up there what trail conditions are like and they should be able to help you
