Hiking the beautiful Mono Pass trail out of Rock Creek in August of 2020. Music by Esther Abrami and Andrew Applepie. www.andrewappl... #hiking #monopass #optoutside
Very enjoyable video. My wife and I have hiked this route many times. When you get to the top of the pass, if you will climb the sand slope to the left, you will be rewarded with breathtaking views to the west. It is a sheer drop-off with a long flat area at the very top. Magical place. Hope you and your wife are still doing great.
Another great vid. Is it safe to drink the water at the top when small lake? Pack outfitters horses were in the water and his dog did his business fairly close to the waters edge.
Wow are there two places called Mono Pass in the area? One time I hiked the Mono Pass trailhead from Tioga Pass Road in Yosemite, to a pass called Mono Pass with views of Mono Lake pretty close by (but it was only about 10,600 feet), camped not far from the tarn there just south of Mount Gibbs, next morning bagged Gibbs and Dana on a dayhike them moved camp over towards Parker Pass then next day took Koip Peak Pass down to Gem Lake, and over the next few days Waugh Lake, to Thousand Island Lake and then around back of Banner to check Lake Catherine, before going back up into Yosemite through Donahue Pass and up Lyell Canyon back to the road, amazing trip.
Wow! Excellent video! I’ve never veered right at the fork before to explore Mono Pass so this satisfied my long running curiosity. I’ve hiked the Little Lakes Valley trail to Upper Gem numerous times & never tire of the extreme beauty of the area. That Summit Lake looks almost like nature’s version of an infinity edge pool! Lol! So breathtakingly beautiful. Thank you for making such a well done & detailed video. Happy hiking!!
Such spectacular views!! So picturesque!! Nature at its purist! The lake at the summit, the streams, the rivers all looked so pure and refreshing! Excellent video! Great job by you! Thanks!
I was there the Monday before! My friend and I were doing a resupply in LLV and learned that morning at 11am (right after the road reopened) about the Iris fire from a passing hiker. Almost bumped into you again in this area! This place never ceases to amaze.
Love this area it’s with out a doubt one of the best hiking areas in the Sierra, to bad the horse and mule packers don’t follow leave no trace, letting their dog take a duce right at the shore line and just walking their horse and mule train right into the lake, rubs me the wrong way.
Sheety i'm confused. Being an Aussie I like to look at the area you hike in so I naturally bring up maps to understand your position. You mentioned you could see Ruby lake but when I google it it says it is more than 60/80km away west of Mesa. Is there more than one Ruby lake? Just curious. Thanks.
so you drove 4 hoursish for a 4 hour day hike....what do you do after...are you staying in the area and filming another vid or are you really driving for a single hike. Just wondering. Im a bit further away in lowcal
