John Muir Trail: Devils Postpile to McGee Pass

I couldn't stay away from the trail after finishing the trek from Devils Postpile to Tuolumne Meadows in August. On September 20th I set out for another adventure beginning at Devils Postpile and heading south up and over McGee Pass - a truly breathtaking hike and area of the planet.
Total Mileage: 35.69
Total Ascent: 6,475 feet
Total Hiking Time: 14:30:22
Total Trip Duration: 28 hours

Just incredible views! Early walker, you are! Lots to see on such a long walk... I love getting down with nature, slow down and listen to the insects and birds and take in the awesome beauty that surrounds. Thank you for taking me with you💜 happy Trails Sheety33

for those that are newbies to hiking, could you include directions to the trailheads, mileage one way or both, elevation gains, and how strenuous it might be so those that may be new to backpacking don't get in " over their heads " venturing out to these beautiful places.
