The fiddle, the vocals and the tap dancing all at the same time, that's a golden sombrero. Only fitting that this clip ends with a steamboat floating by in the background.
Not only is her singing, dancing, and playing all at the same time impressive as hell, but the riverboat slowly moving past in the background is over the top!! Love this!!
Okay, so she's clogging, playing the fiddle and singing all at the same time. She stays on key, doesn't miss a note and doesn't run short of breath, nor fall into the water. Impressive.
@Chevy Man I remember when I was a little kid the chevy pick-ups would be so huge my head hight was the floor hight inside the car.. so amazing as a little sprout, good memories
Hello Klaus, Stephen Foster was not a Southerner. He was born and raised in Pennsylvania, lived in New York City and PA, as an adult. His music was popular throughout the country, back then and many of his songs are well-known, even today.
Я вообще впервые слышу эту песню: и хотя бы поэтому это её исполнение, - исполнение этого музыкального исполнителя, - представляется мне наилучшим. Впрочем, она действительно очень постаралась! Молодец.
Stumbled on her couple weeks ago Great fiddle, like the buck dancing and singing. No lasers, smoke, dancers, light shows. Just good music from someone who enjoys playing it
@@AVS7776what? the lyrics are literally about a man going to visit his love Susanna. There is no mention of race, social status, class, or anything similar.
she plays only 2 chords when singing, its not that hard. Solo goes after. So, technically shes dancing and singing at the same time and fiddling and dancing at the same time, but anyway this is cool :)
John Hartford would be very proud. This is the essence of him and the riverboat is a perfect complement to it. Awesome job and keep this style of music and performance alive.❤
Ah you were just a wisp of a young lady five years ago out on that dock. Was concerned the wind would carry you off. Marvelous. Performance ! I am so glad you are still performing . You make people happy ! 🌿
The General Jackson is based in Nashville, TN, near where I grew up. I worked in Opryland during the summers of '72 and '73. The General Jackson tours up and down the Cumberland River. This brings back some good memories! 😊
@@lachiepentecost1875 What is it now? O.o clogging or buck dancing. Or are those term just interchangeable depending on the region? It might be called tapdancing in Ireland.
@@davidhorn6008 yes and not necessarily. I recall Isaac Stern would often call his violin , a fiddle. I agree that we can say there are fiddlers and there are violinists .
Unbelievable that you can bring this all together. What an artist you are and especially when you sing so clean and beautiful, hold rythm, all in control and your looks make it so lovely. Keep posting and performing. I'm a fan.
My granddaughter is 11 she plays and learns violin learns dance and sings.i send her every one of tour posts Hilary. She loves you and so does grandpa. !
I think it's the best song you've done till now , that riverboat sailing in the background adds to the beauty . You sing like an angel . The rhythm is fantastic . I've downloaded it and sent it around here in India , Bombay and people have loved it . Much love from India .
How many takes did take to get your river boat 🚣 to be perfectly placed in the background? I just loved this.... Now if you can get the river boat on the stage of AGT you will definitely get a Golden Buzzer!!!!!
Your brain must have some incredible "wiring" to be able to play, sing, and dance so well all at the same time, flawlessly. Thank you for sharing your nice work.
You are definitely talented Ms. Hillary. Never seen a finer player in my life, and then you play well (hope you enjoy old school humor). Then you can sing and dance with it. Best rendition of Oh! Susana I've ever seen. Closest I've got to that talent is just telling old stories. Keep up the good work ma'am. You've the support of this Alabamian and may God bless you.
@@HillaryKlug Yeah can understand that is sort of becomes just like driving a car something you dont have to really think about is like with pipes playing in Scotland rather a practice chanter (the thing on a set of bagpipes that makes the tune) without the complexity of the 3 in the case of highland bagpipes but one with lowland pipes keeping the reeds going with air, yeah you commit it to muscle memory by playing on a practice chanter so you dont have to think about it and can do other things as you're doing that Take care Hillary you're a legend!
@@HillaryKlug You are DEFINITELY something special. All the rest of us would have sounded terrible, gotten winded, fallen into the water, and been finished off by the paddlewheel!
No artificial synthesizers, voice dubs, million dollar stage show or trashy costumes needed, pure voice from the heart and talent straight from soul ,,,, real music from a real person. THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS
Actually, that vocal was dubbed. See the wares on the water? No way the vocal was that clear in the original recording. But... no denying this is a great performance.
@@billmankin6204 Either way, the video was probably edited to remove background sound, or they used something to remove the wind sound (They have equipment for that) so you're probably wrong.
@@billmankin6204 I thought that right away since it is all so clear without any wind sound, then when it's over, you can hear barely that background sound of the water and maybe some seagulls. These folks probably have better than average recording equipment by this point so who knows. She is pretty good regardless of how the audio was recorded.
