Trevor Bowen I’m in the key of C, but I’m also probably tuned to A432. I usually play it in D, but that day my voice was a little under the weather, so I sang it in C. I tuned my fiddle FCGC. But I usually tune my fiddle GDAD in order to play it in D. Hope this helps:)

She's a natural flirt, but very lady like. She KNEW how good she looked, played and danced. Check out more Irish dancers and violinists (songs). There are incredible acts. All of them are ladies. They don't need to be smutty to be sexy. There are so many amazing performances by incredible and pretty young ladies. They have acts of many together or many together with the men dancing too. Partly. This is an example of the part of American music that was informed by European folk (particularly Celtic). The other main thing that the history of American music is made of is African folk, since slaves used that as a basis for what became blues, the root of rock and roll.

There's really no such thing as "real American music". This is inspired by European folk songs, and then you have things like jazz (and by extension, rap and hip hop) and rock and roll which came from African folk songs. So in terms of real American music, I'd argue that hip hop and rock and roll is more "American", per se.

I was in a Rock/Blues band doing Allman brother covers among other things back in the early 70's and we did a benefit for some cause which escapes me now, but it was at the Omni in Atlanta (no longer there). The Omni held between 15 and 20 thousand people. John Hartford was the headliner and we were on the venue with him. He wasn't so well known then and only about 500 people showed up which basically looked like an empty room. Well, we did our best cover songs and a few originals and the people liked it OK, but so hard to play to a room that size, largely empty. But Hartford, in his unassuming way, walked out with an acoustic guitar, a banjo and a fiddle, sat down on a chair, and proceeded to destroy the room. I was just stunned. As he walked off the stage people were standing in their chairs wanting more. I always followed what he was doing after that because he just blew us and our 100 watt Marshalls away with just his raw talent and ability to connect with what few people were there. A few years later he developed the act you are speaking of. They really don't make 'em like that anymore! He was truly a gentle giant.

Yeah, there is. A deep connection. The musical culture in Appalachia was imported directly from Ireland.

Hmmm, depends what you mean by "Irish". Musicologists trace this music from Ulster, the Lowlands of Scotland and the North of England. There is also some German and Scandinavian, and, of course, African influences. Step dancing was known in Scotland and the North of England as well as Ireland. There is probably little direct descent from Irish Gaelic musical culture, but there is a "family resemblance".

@Jaime Alonzo My point is "Most people can't walk and chew gum at the same time" She is dancing and playing the fiddle, now just to brake this down for you (She has to lock her frame from the waist up, think about the dance steps all while remembering the fingering and not losing her place in the music itself!)
