@@emilyannthevioletghost715 trust me, her attitude isn't just for the cameras 🤣 i met her the first time i went to Hillbilly hotdogs. She's full of energy and never stops smiling.
This place seems so welcoming. And the owners seem so humble and sweet. Hard to find people like that nowadays. I would love to visit here one day and try a Hot Dog. 👌
RIP Sonny! I enjoyed working for you on 3rd Ave! Some of the best memories. You was an amazing man who genuinely cared for your employees and customers💔
We've met them on our way down to see family in Princeton. They are the sweetest people and the food is amazing. I sat at a picnic table and saw animals just crossing the road.
The owners are just plain awesome. The gentleman referring to his wife as his sweetheart was cute and wholesome. The lady hollering homeeeeeeeewreckerrrrrrrr! at the end Made me giggle and made me wish she was my friend! Cool people. I don’t know that my stomach could handle anything on their menu but I’d love to give it a try
I'm British, I've been to Hillbilly Hotdogs, and it was amazing!! Also watched a Marshal game ( GO HERD ), defo something to knock off my bucket list. I had the Home Wrecker. I love how people have left little things all over the place from all over the world. West Virginia is the most awesome place in the U.S. Also I speak from experience, those West Virginian girls love themselves a British Accent :)
Good that you enjoyed your stay in murica, ive seen too many people who hasn't been to us trashing on US. All they know about us are from the nasty MSM
Fantastic Mate! Wait.....that's Australian. HAHAHAHA!!!! Anyways, "fantastic"! Glad you enjoyed your visit to West Virginia. My little girl...19.....is at WVU, but "Go Herd" anyway!!!! We're all West Virginians!!!!! Come back soon!!!
Glad you enjoyed your time in the states. I'm from arkansas and have yet to visit WV. Each state here has a completely different vibe and each has it's own beautiful places in their own way. Arkansas has beautiful forests, waterfalls, crystal clear water, and the nicest people you will ever meet.
I'm from Ohio, not West Virginia, but I absolutely love WV. One of the most beautiful places in America with such kind, unique people. I'm glad people frown on the state because it preserves what is so wonderful about it.
@done 1 Yes, not only do you epitomize my point, but you also seem to think that is solely a WV thing. Bless your heart. You need to get out more if you think WV is the hub of pill poppers and meth junkies. Hell, just look up statistics. You'll learn something.
It's just amazing to me just how innovative and creative people can be with the simplest of dishes. Imagine, this establishment is a freaking GOLD MINE of success because of a great idea and the courage to pull it off. Great for them. It looks like they work very hard for everything they have, and hope to pass through there one day.
I really hope to get the chance to eat here one day. I seen this on Triple D several times on re-runs. THIS is my kinda place right here. I also think that mom n pop places like this scattered all across our country truly makes America pretty damn awesome!!!
This is where I got married! They were some of the best ever!! Go there and eat for our anniversary and they remember us and they treat everyone like family.
I'm 59. I grew up in Fairless Hills,Lower Bucks County Pennsylvania. However, my dad was originally from DANVILLE,VA. When I was a kid, he took me to visit his family and when we go to VA. He would stop at a small Chilidog stand. I will NEVER EVER forget those Dogs ! PRIMO ! Today I am NOT a huge hotdog fan but when I do eat a dog, my mind rolls back to those days with my dear ol doggy daddy ! R.I.P. HOWARD HARAWAY SR.
@KCBOBX same. His crew is constantly stepping on egg shells around him. He was is a nightmare to work with. 1st hand when I set up his restaurant in Branson mo. I’d rather eat glass than work with him again
@@alexdzatkowski687 Bratwurst or knackwurst. But in all seriousness, if you ever make it to West Virginia, check this place out. Good people, good food. Hardworking America
@@christianluyando9077, there's a place in Drumheller, Alberta, that has a similarly sized burger called the Mammoth Burger, so named because Drumheller is home to a large dinosaur museum. The xxxl-sized burger bun is homemade, and they've bottled their own signature spice blend for sale. Bernie and the Boys is the restaurant's name.
I remember they opened up my Junior year of high school and still love about 2 miles from there. Used to stop by everyday after school before they added all the side show stuff.
Those two are doing what they love ❤ you can see it with something for everyone is so cool I truck up there a lot it's flatbed country for sure. I wish I knew them when I was in my travels it would have been awesome 👌!
West By God has some of the best joints around. Beautiful state and great folk. If you're down by Beckley, Tamarack is the place. Some of the best meals in my life and $12 a head maybe?
Got married here at Hillbilly Hotdogs in the chapel right outside! Drove up from Smithfield Va and it was well worth the trip!! Ya gotta put this place on your bucket list!!
We need these kind of dives up north! I would fit right in with these folks! Take a bus up north to our festivals on a summer tour and you’d make a killing!!!
On a Sunday a friend of mine and I decided after work in the morning we were gonna drive to this place. The two day event was over 950 miles, and was so well worth it, even now though Im handicap, I would do it again!! We were first customer of the day. The next one, right behind us drove almost as far. DDD did this place right.
I should point out, that Detroit cony dogs are and will always be the best. BUT!!! This place has so much more going for it! They offer such a selection of different types of dogs, it blows your mind. And I have not even mentioned the ambiance of this place!! The door handles are fake. you have to figure out how to get in! They use old school busses as dining areas! Classic! This is a gastromes bucket list place to go!!
I went there last weekend and it was easily the best hot dog I’ve ever had. I’ve been around the world and they seriously have the best hot dog ever for only $3.50
Now these are the places I look for. Down home fun people who can fix you up some grub. I love the show that points out these mom & pop places. I gotta go there.
Just ate here a few hours ago before heading home. I passed it heading in and 'it scared the Hell out of me' then on my way back I was like 'Okay I overheard so many locals talking about this place I gotta try it' even though I didn't wanna end up in a horror film. Glad I did! Yes, as many have said these dogs are some of the best you'll get anywhere. (Suck it, Chicago!) I vow to train myself so I can some day return and accept the home wrecker challenge.
I'm from Danville Va. And there 's no better hotdogs than in and around Danville area, including Reidsville NC. And JESSE JONES hotdogs are the true old time way to have a good hotdog. All the way is the best... mustard , chili, slaw, and onions. NO KETCHUP!
Welcome Lesage, WV. I can attest to how great this place is. It’s as good as they say it is and then some. I usually went to the Huntington, WV location.
I like that the challenge burger is an actual full burger. I don't think I've seen a food challenge that does that...not just a bunch of small ones arranged in a circle. I am certainly going to make my way there...
