Northern Appalachia is home to a small family farm called Angelica Mill. This historic land is owned and worked by Sam Beer and his wife, Lucia. What makes this place - and these people - unique? They may be the only growers in the United States of an ancient crop that has a powerful phytonutrient profile: Himalayan Tartary Buckwheat.
Big Bold Health is proud to partner with Angelica Mill and an expanding network of small growers to bring Himalayan Tartary buckwheat to the US marketplace and beyond.

Great discussion! Thank you. I just purchased a bag of your Tartary Buckwheat. So far I have mixed it in yogurt and it is delicious! It tastes like I am eating pancake batter. Added some raw honey and freeze dried nordic berries and a raw pastured egg yolk on top! Thank you for producing this wonderful product!

I got my HTB flour and supplement today and am thrilled about it. I made blueberry pancakes and love its heartiness and slight bitter flavor! I have tears of joy and appreciation for the story of HTB.

I think we may learn that the reason it's so helpful in bodily health is the soil it's grown in. Just like Himalayan salt is full of nutrients compared to sea salt primarily because it's undisturbed within a nutritious bio diverse environment. If you were to take the buckwheat from the Himalayan's and grow it in industrial mono crops, it's likely that a lot of if not most of it's health effects will be gone. But if it was grown in a permaculture environment and soil nitrogen, bio diversity and nutrition levels were considered, managed and fed, then the buckwheat would remain fully nutritious. We have to feed the plants that feed us. Mono cropping kills the soil, effectively making it a desert that they try to reanimate with fertilizer with each crop.

If only Big Bold Health expanded outside US. Becasue I don't eat wheat in any shape or form anymore for some years now and yes I miss bread and pasta but I'm disciplined to it and used to not eating it now. I've started lookin at Einkorn flour but it's incomparable to Himilayan Buckwheat Flour with a superior nutritional profile due to the polyphenols and high percentage of ruitin and what it does to the immune system. I'd like to make HTB part of my everyday lifestyle. At the moment I purchase HTB on Ubuy but it's extremely expensive when factor in postage (shipping) but it's worth it. I'm using it because of an autoimmune disease (systemic sclerosis) among many other herbal and nutritional means.

I just reached out and contacted them about getting a tea version. I would be interested in the health benefits of the tea vs the flour. Keto diet is based on low carb high fat and to combat diabetes

25.00 for two pounds is too much for flour, in my opinion.

eat the groats from the tea bag after you've finished the tea. Yep, you can do this as edible. Research it.
