It's time to see who is a nanoblock fan and who is not. Let me hear you say your hands hurt when you put it together.

For all you camera geeks, details on what I used below (for most of the videos).
Sony's FS700 with Zeiss FE2.8 4k Raw to pro res. Used for all the extreme close ups.
Sony's FS5 4k UHD to 4K pro res with Fujinon 18-55mm. Used for my face...
Slow motion was all shot in 2K raw to pro res.
Falcon Eye for all lights.

Awesome. Nothing wrong with Nano. I love them, but just quite behind on them. I have the titanic too I bought when I was in Japan. I should really get moving on it. There's so many 3rd party brands now with really creative sets.

I like these. I also like the size comparison with standard sizes because it gives me an idea of how much area I need when I display them. I have built the LOZ Paleontology kits and they are great. I have noticed that there are some clutch issues when you have so hang a 3-stud on a single stud to make a tail. But as long as there are more studs for them to attach to, the clutch is pretty good. Just keep these out of reach of cats. :-D So, keep these reviews coming, Scotti.

Yes I forgot to mention about the clutch with single studs. You're right about that. So far most of the builds have been solid bigger sets. Ill get on the paleontology ones soon.

I got me the Farnsworth House from LOZ, and it was meant to sit on a desk. The size is even better suited for these kind of architecture models. You can put more details on it without getting too large for a desk. PS: Unlike these bricks, LOZ is like Lego only smaller. Also with tiles, for I don't like this set for all the studs you can see here.

I am a nanoblock fan and consider it as the LEGO of the small block brands since it’s the only one with official licence products. They sell a specialised tweezers to build with and that fulfils my model building itch that i no longer have time for.

Yea everybody keeps telling me to get the tweezers but honestly I've had no issues. I enjoy the cramps. I've spoken to a few of the china brands that do have licensing to fo certain products but then some of thr stuff like Marvel or other stuff they really couldn't answer me hahahaha

Nanoblock does have their own tiny mini figure with a tiny hat but with no articulation. Nanoblock is pretty easy to get hold of, there’s a couple of shops at home that sells them. Apart from that Santa gift you sent me in the mail last Christmas I haven’t tried any other Nanoblock type brands, I’m keen to try out some LOZ Diamond blocks.

I have a lot to build... The original nanoblock don't seem to have that many new big sets. This castle is around 5 years old and i have the rest of the big collection but they only made a few. Unfortunately... But that stadium at the end is a china brand and its big too hahaha

Brick Me Up Scottie I haven’t explored their bigger sets but have seen them but they’re pretty expensive, I prefer to buy LEGO compatible sets at those prices.

I like nanoblocks. I have decent sized hands and have not had cramps while trying to assemble them. I find the smaller scale allows them to put in a lot of figure detail on a model that is not overly huge or full of custom pieces or stickers. ;-)

When I build nano I'm always wondering if some will come will come with stickers... So far every person I have come across just complains about size and cramps and here I am like, really??

I don't find the dimensions useless, the lego units are universal for all lego fans, while otherwise we remain divided by the metric and imperial systems

Your older videos pop up on RU-vid. Bought the castle think 7 years ago. Would have never guessed it is still being sold. Enjoyed building it and looks very nice. Too bad not like the Lego modules with interior features. My hands fairly big but easy to build. Only use I got from the tweezers is attaching the stickers on Lego, Oxford or Royal Toy sets. I had lot of the sets of different Japanese buildings. Only have the castle set now. Too bad since could have had a miniature town in my Lego city for the minifigs to visit. Like that tourist attraction in Netherlands(?) that has miniature recreations of famous building around the world. That would have been interesting to had as part of my Lego amusement park.

RU-vid knows what you like lol. This castle and the others are still pretty popular I guess nano doesn’t have to really discontinue sets but then again they don’t have a whole lot of big ones. They do have loads of mini ones and the amount of nano collection from other 3rd party brands have loads of architectures.

Nanoblock has some interesting products/models like Tintin the Unicorn,Steam Locomotive, different kind of animals, etc. However, I did not enjoy the building process because the bricks are small, does not fit tightly as Lego, and the structure is not solid (design failure ?)...... Still, I keep buying when they launch new, irresistible products :)

As one person mentioned linking some pieces lossely like a tail or a single stud definitely does not hold well... Lucky Im only into buildings and not much characters.

In my country we have blocks called mini blocks and they are like nanoblocks those aren't Loz and their is one different.Their bottoms are like lego

I have been working with Nanoblock for a bit now via the FOCO stadium series that is officially licensed with the NFL and MLB and I find the challenge of the smaller blocks very rewarding. Like you have not found much info on this it's almost become a cool mystery to my hobby

Oh wow those are cool. Never even knew about them. I’ve only done one and I have a few more in my backlog to build but from a diff brand. A bit tricky but overall super fun to build imo. @@brickmeupscottie yeah the are not easy builds but I really e joy the process and how they turn out I have 2 Stadiums in my backlog including a 5000 piece set. I also saw your videos on the Wange set and they had them on sale and picked some up so backlog is full

Nanoblocks doesn't have antistuds but it gives you more flexibility durring assembly since they're so small:D

“Are they worth something if discontinued” Most likely, I like building the animal versions of nanoblocks. I was trying to find the snake, and every single person was selling it for no less than $90 I didn’t but it though

That’s a good question. Maybe I have to ask a Nanoblock expert but you’re right, I just checked out that snake...it is expensive. Unless you find a China version you can probably save cost lol. I’m glad to hear you like the animals, I don’t have any except a few Pokémon ones if that counts hahahah

I do have 2 mini block style things one is a thing that looks like a pikachu with a Chinese temple as the background by Sembo Block and a panda from Daiso both blocks connect with each other

Now there is a set I like. Also being as you seem to have a fair amount of expierance with small block sets. Are XY Diamond sets a good replacement as I receieved such a set as a gift. Or should I stick to offical anoblock stuff?

Any link? I’m not sure if that’s a rebrand of Balody or npx but anyways the more complex the build the harder for sure. The ones that layer like crazy (character models) can be challenging and some instructions suck.. it’s worth to try other brands for sure cause sometimes you might just enjoy it and if not go back to nanoblock. Looks like a rebrand. If it’s cheaper it’s worth a shot. As far as clutch and feel it all feels almost exactly the same (nano has more details on the underside the brick) but otherwise the only real downside would probably be the instructions which can get ridiculous on angles. You just reminded me I actually have the nanoblock titanic still in its box...lol

Nano blocks are indeed a great test in patience. 🤣 i had a darth vader loz model and sometimes it is difficult to read off the manual. But one good thing is that those Chinese nanoblocks are relatively cheaper especially those larger sets. Miniblocks review coming soon?

That’s a great piece! I love the fact that there are nanoblocks even from famous cities. I’ve seen some on minijapanshop.eu which feature the city of London for example, I would love to buy that to add it to my collection. There are also some cute ones on aliexpress, anime characters is what I’ve seen.

Thank you for that info. Actually there's thousands of sets out there. I've met a few brands in last years toy expo and it was just mesmerising to see how many nano block type sets existed. I've only put a very few on the store but it seems the request is growing so I might add more (I just added a sushi set). There are also lots of video game characters like the ZMS 3490 Super Mario, which looks great. I really need to build and review more.

I built one of those sets (the Kinkaku-ji in Kyoto) and it's definitely not my thing. Building should be relaxing and enjoyable, this is not. The LOZ mini bricks are fine, these are just too small for me.

Hahaha I understand the frustration but I kinda got used to it. I built a stadium and the other nano block city sets and fell in love. I find it just as fun...then again I’m kinda nuts myself hahaha

These are nano block. Because this is an official nanoblock set from Japan the original company. Daimond blocks are the same size and mini blocks are slightly small than Lego but bigger than nano which you will see in my next video.
