Unlike other moped style e bikes, this one allows you to raise the seat for proper knee extension, very important if you don't want to mess up your knees.
I have an escape hydraulic breaks and keep it in 5th gear. i use electric 1 thru 5 as shifter everything is uphill and downhill in west Virginia spend a lot of time of road in very rough terrain bravo to HIMIWAY
The chain slapping is actually it hitting the kick stand and turned up the bike will do 25 mph.Anyone looking at the big dog it's awesome machine and worth every cent!I easily put 2000 miles on mine this summer.Great review as always,thank you!
I just picked up my Big Dog, and it's the perfect bike for my needs. I was also blown away to see hydraulic brakes on mine. Idk if I got extremely lucky or they plan on moving to default hydraulic brakes.
Thanks for the video. We'll be first time riders of e-bikes if we can ever decide on which ones. We're in Canada so it's more expensive and we want to be able to order in our currency and have free shipping. After purchase service will also be a consideration. Love the bikes that have in frame batteries. We're looking for pedal assist only e-bikes but they're hard to find.

Wow I was expecting better performance with the price tag..my cheap Chinese bike I bought over a year ago would leave this bike in the dust..but it's a good looking bike tho..
We have heard from a few other people that their Big Dogs came with hydraulic brakes also. So we think Himiway has since changed to the better braking system. But it is worth checking with Himiway for the final answer on this.
I almost bought this ebike recently; however, I am new to ebikes and purchased the Mokwheel Scoria instead. This was mostly due to the type of breaking system, warranty, and something about the batteries but I’m not entirely sure on that one. Are you open to comparing the two? Also, I would love to add a seat for kids like what is offered for the Radio Flyer cargo model. Is there a universal attachment for ebikes so we can have this type of seat? Or, is it mostly proprietary?
It honestly looks like the Scoria is the exact same ebike (which I might be) all the way down to the warranty. But as long as you are happy with it that is all that matters. I assume you are talking about the Thule Yepp Maxi seat. That seat uses a special mounting system that is specific to that seat and can be found on many ebikes. The issue with your Scoria and the Big Dog are that the rear tray is to wide to accept a Yepp seat. You might be able to put a padded seat on to that rack for a child could sit on, but that is not something we have ever specifically done. Good luck and enjoy the new ebike!
Thank you for offering some closure. I have contacted the company and have done some additional research. I could do more but I’m a SUPER busy momma and I just can’t put in THAT much research time for something that may not pay off. Again, I haven’t sacrificed that much time looking, but it seems that fat tire, hidden battery, and beautiful aesthetics are rare if you want to add a kid or two for the ride? It is good to note there may not be any true rear child seat options that can also double for cargo carrying which is disappointing. There is one option on the website at Mokwheel which my 5 year old will not ride in and will not allow for cargo without a child. Please know this looks to be the same exact battle for the Himingway Big Dog (which I almost bought before I tried the Scoria) as you mentioned. I do like my Scoria so my kids will keep riding along in the bike trailer (bit of a bummer). I hope Mokwheel and Himingway offer additional accessories in the future for kids/cargo because the quality is there.
Some of the option for kid and cargo carrying are just not as detailed, however some of the "longer tail" cargo ebikes allow for mounting of a kid seat and a basket simultaneously. Which could achieve what you are looking for. The Blix Packa Genie, Flyer L885 or KBO Ranger are a couple quick ebikes that jump into my mind as options. I have complete understanding as how overwhelming searching for your first ebike can be when you begin looking in this space. All that matters is that you are happy with your choice... oh and that you get out a turn some miles on it. -JT
Other than the Mokwheel Scoria "twin" mentioned in another comment below is there any other Ebike that has a 400lb or higher rating and hopefully one that has rear shocks instead of fixed rear frame?

You can unleash the beast with that 750 watt motor by removing the firmware & reach 30 MPH easily with pedal assist. On throttle only it's illegal, but still possible to do. You're paying 2 grand, 24 MPH doesn't cut it, & the government knows that... You're paying for that motor, so you should get your money's worth, & not be limited by dumb laws~
How has the bike been for you so far as of now? This would look great for food delivery which is what I do for food delivery. Any issues or parts damaged already?
Nothing to speak of as of right now. We have more miles on the Himiway Zebra (which is extremely similar to thos model) and have nothing but good things to say.
Yes, the Big Dog is set up the same way as the Zebra, but I don't recall there being a large "lag" on the throttle input. There is also a lot of customizability within the HImiway screen, so you might be able to tune some of that lag out. -JT
Do not buy any Himiway products. THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT. First of all, I couldn’t find a repair shop that would be willing to do warranty work because “ Himiway doesn’t pay their bills” I finally found a dealer that would work on my Cruiser, but wouldn’t wait for reimbursement from Himiway because they don’t pay. After speaking with Himiway they told me to go ahead and pay for the repairs. I did which was around 150 bucks. Here I am months later and still no refund. Email after email and excuse after excuse. Don’t do business with Himiway, I’m in Cali.
