Nice review. I've had my Himi Zebra for a couple months now. I love it. I've changed out the seat, headlight, riser stem and programming which made all the difference in the world for comfort.
I have the same bike too and I love it, I also have changed the seat and put an adjustable stem and a stem riser on it and Tanus liners in it, also I just put an 11-28t freewheel on it, it comes with a 14-28t freewheel and the 11-28 is the biggest and best upgrade I have done because there is no more ghost pedaling and will also help you with range, also I have a 1000 mi. on mine so I did my 1000 mi. Maintenance on it I took apart the new upgraded motor and it is a lot better than their old motor, but I wanted to clean the cheap white lithium grease and put a much better grease in it Lucas Red N Tacky #2 on the gears with is a far better grease and safe for the nylon gears and it is so much more Quite and I can hear it saying THANK YOU! I Love My Step-Thru Zebra and it has got to be the coolest looking step-thru I have ever seen, I am 62 years old with a bad knee and I ride it almost every day! 😎😎
Put a 52 tooth front sprocket in place of the 46 tooth, and gain 8/9th gear, now it peddles up to 20mph comfortablely, but with the extra teeth, you can peddle to 25+ comfortablely ... Nice video, also set power to motor % in settings for lag issues, I have this bike also, and tweaked it in the settings, also save your Butt !Get a Cloud 9 Cruiser-Ciser saddle with a BikeRoo large gel seat cover, and your set ! This is free wheeling e-bike ..and with a newer motor, and battery Pak
As someone who has put a Bafang 750w mid drive motor onto a Kona Munimula I'd like to say that mtb forks are only just capable of handling the extra weight from the battery. I changed the original forks and also put on an 203mm front rotor, which is essential as I could have both levers on the bars and they weren't stopping me, the 203 solved that issue but it shows up the compromise of the forks, they need more strength due to the weight. BTW that is noisy as hell, my Bafang is almost silent by comparison and I'll get 40 mph and easily cover 50 miles.
Thank you for video. I've been thinking about this one. I would change the neck steem. More adjustable. Maybe the FAT tires to a smaller size. I LIKE the travel distance they are claiming. Ride On!
Fork suspension is adjustable for preload which if sag is adjusted improves the ride. I found no difference in dampening settings. Pedal assist delay and power delivery can be adjusted along with the number of power settings available in the programing. You should spend a few more minutes going over reviewed bikes programming options. These options are why we chose Himiway for our current Ebikes.
Does Himiway make the motor, and if so, is it as good as or better than the Bafang motor? If Himiway does not make the motor, who does make it? Thanks for the great review!
I believe this bike has a Torque sensor not cadence. I own two Himiway's. Cruiser and This Zebra. They do work a bit differently. The sensor needs to feel Your input on the peddles so that is the delay cause.
I can try! I have my email listed under the about section of my RU-vid channel, but it’s talalipopmtb@gmail.com if you want to send me pictures or something
That’s a good question! They are definitely different styles, I love the addmotor since it can carry a rear passenger and has a higher top speed, but I do think the Himiway looks better and feels pretty durable. I think I would personally choose the addmotor if I had to have 1 bike, but that’s mainly because of the rear passenger feature.
