It is all ABOUT the contestants and their playing. Of course you film surroundings, orchestra, hall, public… but the way this was done is maybe nice for concerts but certainly NOT for competitions. Look at the most prominent competion in the world: the Elisabeth competition in Brussels, they show the candidates, whole posture, the hands, bowings are visible etc.

I want to hear a very good sound from a music competition and in close-ups of the camera: emotions expressed mainly on the performer's face and the technique of playing the instrument, and from time to time the entire figure and individual musicians from the orchestra leading parts of the piece. The music connoisseur - for whom you are misrepresenting yourself here - takes a vacation for the duration of the competition, buys a ticket and comes to listen and watch live performances. You are right about the display of the flautist, you can see that she is the favorite of the camera operator :). The rest is a mistake, resulting from the wrong entry into the music channel, instead of the sports channel.
