Hip Hop Dancer Reacts to Taemin - 'Want' Dance Practice  

This is one of the reasons why TAEMIN has earned and maintained being known as the Korean Michael Jackson, because his dancing style along with unique vocals are out of the box and you don't see many artists that can mimic his moves since TAEMIN's on such a high level of unmatched artistry.

In "Want" Taemin is supposed to be portraying Lucifer that's why his movements are slow and calculated because like Lucifer, he is supposed to be seducing the audience and the girl using his devilish powers. That's why his dance moves look like he is slithering like a snake, etc. The whole song and MV uses biblical references as part of the story. Fun fact: That's not just any female dancer. That's Yoo JiMin (Karina) who is the leader and main dancer of SM Entertainment's newest girl group aespa. "Want" came out in February 2019 and aespa didn't debut until November 2020. She participated in this song as a rookie trainee even before aespa's debut. (She was a trainee for about 7 years.) She also is the featured dancer in the MV and she participated in some live performances of "Want." (Kai is Taemin's best friend and he is considered the top dancer in the industry alongside Taemin. Taemin and Kai are regarded as the two best dancers in Kpop.) Just wait until you see Taemin perform during his solo concerts. When he really lets loss, even his backup dancers struggle to keep up. 🙂 Taemin has always been known for saving his energy for where it counts the most -- for live performances and for filming MVs -- dance practices for him are literally dance practices, so he is just allowing himself to feel the dance and get in the groove. He is less worried about being spot on exact, and more about showing everyone the feel of the choreography and the story behind the dance. Believe it or not, what you just witnessed isn't even Taemin at full power. If you really want to see what makes Taemin such a brilliant performer, check out some of his live performances. Taemin live is on a whole other level. That is where Taemin truly shines. You will be even more impressed once you see him perform these songs and dances live. If you watch a lot of his live performances or see him in concert you will see how much of an expert he is. Seeing as he is also singing live almost 100% of the time while performing for 3+ hours, you will notice moments where he conserves his energy, only to release it full out during the most intense parts of the dance or performance. He has became known as the best in the industry for a reason. What makes Taemin so amazing is the fact that he doesn't need to expend every ounce of his energy in the dance practice video, to show us how brillant of a dancer he is. With even 50% effort, Taemin is more magnificent than a lot of dancers when they dance full out. No one can pull off a Taemin dance exactly the way Taemin does it -- it's never as sharp or precise as he does it -- no matter how talented of a dancer they are. As a member of SHINee, Taemin has trained his entire career to build stamina and endurance in order to be able to pull off this type of intense and intricate dancing while singing live and always sounding flawless the whole time. That is what SHINee are known for. Therefore, I think live performances are where Taemin is most magnificent and it's where he is able to show us his truest self. He truly lives for the stage. What we just witnessed was art in its purest form.

She's there as a back up dancer, has nothing to do with the song's meaning; WANT is title track to extended play album with the same name which is his second Korean album released 2019. He also has a self-titled album called FAMOUS TAEMIN that you may want to listen to and only music video he has for that album is FAMOUS and dance practice which you reacted to previously.

TAEMIN's WANT is not what that means, he's not talking about a woman or whatever just from your observation of one of his moves.
