Darius Rucker is the full package. Voice, charisma, musical talent. Everything you said. I never listened to Hootie and the Blowfish so I'm so glad he transitioned to country so we all could get to know him. He also was made a member of the Grand Old Opry, an honor well deserved.

Darius is a fine Individual, much respected in his hometown Charleston SC. I remember when he started his band Hootie & the Blowfish when he was a student at the University of South Carolina. This old song was performed by lots of ppl but Darius owns this song
We love Darius in our house. We loved Hootie back when. Got a real kick seeing the Robinsons in the video. On the chance your not aware on the Roninsons, maybe you've heard of the show Duck Dynasty. Uncle Cy gave him the ride to town, Willie and his wife n daughter were in the store window and Jayce was the doorman/bouncer at the bar.

I love it! This is one of those songs that some players love to hate because it has been so over done. I for one never get tired of it. I'm an amateur musician and no matter what jam session I play at this song comes around.Maked no difference to what instrument I am playing at the time, I get in to that gove and wish it could go on forever.

YES, YES,YES! I don’t listen to very much of the newer country, but I love this song! You might try Cowboy Troy (Wrap Around The World) or Big and Rich (8th of November), while you are looking at newer artists.
One of my favorites in contemporary, and I listen to mostly the old stuff. This was originally a Bob Dylan tune and has been changed over time. I love Dylan, but this isn't his song anymore.

I've always wondered when I watch this video if the Robertson's helping him on his journey in the video is any way symbolic of his spiritual journey and if they played any part in it. Love this video and him.

It's funny, Hootie(no, he wasn't Hootie) & the Blowfish were in the 90's. But every August, when students are moving back in; with all the windows open, you can hear, "Only Wanna Be With You" blaring everywhere. Not sure they really know who it is or not, but they sure do love it. Some things are timeless. So glad Darius switched over to Country.
I was friends with the mom of one of Hootie and the Blowfish's roadies here in SC and they were all such a great bunch of guys. Darius is talented and down to earth. Great reaction.

Old Crow Medicine Show sang the original, I’d love to get your take on it. This may be apocryphal, but I think Bob Dylan had some hand in writing this song. Maybe he wrote the early manuscript it was adapted from, not sure of the whole story.
Dylan wrote most of the chorus which OCMS had picked up from some old film with Dylan in it. They asked him if they could use it for a song & included him on the writing credits.
