Honestly... SOAD is one of the greatest bands of all time. Their unique sound is instantly identifiable. Rock your face off, with DEEP meanings to their lyrics.
I'm super excited to see you jump back into System of a Down! The song you're talking about is called Chop Suey. Aerials is off the album Toxicity which is from 2001. My favorites from the band that I think you will also enjoy are: Toxicity Prison Song B.Y.O.B. The band has so many great lyrics that I'm sure a hip hop head like you will enjoy and I think those three are a great place to start.
Finally I was able to watch it this early 😁 Great reaction, thanks a lot for this and it's a song I always play on my acoustic as well as electric guitar while practicing 😊
Love that you are expanding the type of music you are looking at, and finding things you like. It opens creativety. Enjoy the journy. Don't feel you need to say sorry for not know things about new to you bands or songs, you have a great commuity we will guid you.
Cliff, my friend. Since you're into lyrics, you need to dig into SoaD. I'll suggest a powerful song from each of their albums. 1) "Spiders" 2) "Deer Dance" 3) "A.D.D. (American Dream Denial)" 4) "Question!" 5) "Hypnotize"
Yeah man! More SOAD! Toxicity, BYOB, Chop Suey (this is the song you know), Question!, Sugar, Spiders, Lonely Day... just to name a few. Love your channel1
the song you referenced in the beginning is called chop suey, its from the same album as this one, toxicity. the album cameout way back in 2001. i wouldnt realy trust upload dates, even on official channels because they could be re-uploads years later so its better to google it
System is always gonna do that haha. If you wanna hear how fast the singer can go, try listening to the song "I.E.A.I.A.I.O.". Also, they do a cover/colab with wutang. Song called "shame".
😂 💿 🎧 🚶🏻 🚲 - you rock!! Um, hell yeah, more SOAD / also there’s a f’kn dope video of Nandi Bushell, young girl drummer doing an intense 🥁 play through of Toxicity- her energy is *INCREDIBLE*
Please PLEASE react to Tool Sober, A Perfect Circle Weak And Powerless, Killswitch Engage live VERSION of End Of Heartache, Bloodsimple The Leaving Song (VERY LESSER KNOWN BAND), In Flames Ropes or Where Dead Ships Dwell. So much depth in all of them 🖤
This was from one of the albums I was learning to play on guitar, bass and drums maybe a month or two before I was deployed. It hit so much differently in the shit after the world trade center attack. I can listen to SoaD but some tunes trigger my ptsd. This one reminds me of working on the ranch before being shipped off into the sand and having to use MRE packaging as toilet paper.
The more you know about other genres the better you become at your own genre. 😉 The thing people don’t realize is that “rock” music is actually very deep & comes from the writers heart. Either what they are going through emotionally, physically or about something going on in the world around them. Many “rock” artists will say… this is what this song means to me but it may mean something else to you.
The songs the others are suggesting are all great. But one I'd like to see more attention to is Holy Mountain. The entire background to that song is about the Armenian Genocide at the tail end of World War 1 that Turkey has never acknowledged.
You’ll figure out metal heads aren’t quite as judgmental about not knowing shit too. No need to keep apologizing for not knowing. Lol More like a welcoming family than competition.
You gotta peep more SOAD my dude!!! They’re legends for a reason. Some recommendations: Toxicity BYOB Prison Song Deer Dance Question! They’re all of Armenian descent (I wanna say Shavo was born in Armenia and John was born in Lebanon) and most of their songs deal with sociopolitical issues and class struggles. I love that you’re digging into more rock and metal! Would love to hear your take on the song “Panic Room” by Silent Planet. Cheers!
Dude... more SOAD!!! You'll love their lyrics! You need at least these to start: Prison Song Sugar P.L.U.C.K Bounce Deer Dance Hypnotize F**k the System Suggestions Suite Pee This album, Toxicity, came out in 2001.
🤘🤘”Life is a waterfall, we’re one in the river and one again after the fall” Honestly the line that helped my through my dad’s death. We all come from the same void, have our moment as selves, then back to the collective chaos. Great reaction, much love. 🙏
Spiders is an absolute must-hear that I feel like many forget about from their debut album. Haunting atmosphere and very melodic with more great lyrics, would love to see you hear that!
I remember picking up a demo from their first album and being blown away. Then I met the band the first time they came to NYC. Great guys, not sure now. But they were really humble.
1. Eminem - W.T.P. 2. Eminem & Redman - Off the Wall 3. "BDP, Stetsasonic, Kool Moe Dee, MC Lyte, Doug E. Fresh, Just-Ice, Heavy D, Chuck D - Self Destruction"
He’s one of my favorite vocalists. You gotta check out Tech N9ne - straight out the gate. The lead singer of System of a Down is featured on that song with tech
great reaction. I'm sure you're sick of Ren requests but... nobody is doing this one, I think because it doesn't list the names of the songs that he and Sam are doing but I think the one is Eminem Cleaning out my Closet... I could be wrong. I know you don't click links so I'm just gonna leave the title on the video. Ren & Sam Tompkins - Live in the streets of Brighton, UK - 18 August 2018
Serge (the singer) and Tech 9 did a Collab- Straight Out The Gate I think it's called. Haven't listened to it in a couple years but it's amazing. I hope you check it out 🔥🔥🔥
Cliff, my guy. There this band called Rage against the Machine that I know you would love. Any song honestly, maybe not Killing in the name, but any other.
Brahhhh, its too hard to pull out all the good System of a Down songs, but theres sooo many god tunes from t his band. If I knew you'd see the song names and react, i'd drop some good ones. I'll let your community do it. I will drop one tho, the song Metro is a cover from the band Berlin I believe. Berlins song might be old school hip hop idk. cheers for the adventure you're about to take :)
Well learning metal and hard rock isn't a race lol. Take your time man. Ever see the time Konerko took a pitch to the jaw, stayed in the game, hit a HR his next time at bat?
Awesome reaction!! Tech 9 has a song with these guys.. Straight out of the Gate.. You’d love it!! Love your reactions man! And I hope they found the person who was messing with Your moms Stable.. I couldn’t imagine.. I hope you’re all doing okay
Cliff, thank you so much for being so chill. I appreciate ya. Keep doing what youre doing. Oddly enough, youre end cards make me tear up. Not a bad thing. I'm just emotional. Nothing wrong with that lol.
