"Knives and Pens" was really the song that finally gave BVB some recognition, I started listening to BVB in 2015 (sometime after their album release of BVB 4), and they have really developed musically. Andy actually said that with their first album, he had no idea how to write songs. He definitely got better at song writing over the years, lol. Also, this song he wrote about his experiences of being bullied during his childhood.

They made this song when they were like 17. It was Andy’s actual high school, Sandras actual car was used, and the house used in the video was also Sandras actual house (or it was one of theirs actual houses). This was like one of their very first songs they filmed and shit. I think it’s pretty dope and I love BVB and this song is one of my favoritesssss.

"Rebel Love Song" was my intro to this band - and I love the hell out of that whole album. They took what Motley Crue was doing in the 80's and refreshed it for today. Had tickets to see them open for In This Moment next month...postponed, unfortunately...hopefully it gets re-scheduled after the craziness dies down.

Never thought I would see BVB but glad you reacted to them. Never was a biiiiig fan of some of their lyrics and there's to much "Ooooh oooh oooh" in their songs for my taste, but they have excellent choruses, musicians, amazing riffs and solos and Andy Biersack has some solid vocals, mostly in their recent stuff. I really recommend the songs Coffin, Faithless or Wretched And Divine to see how much they improved over the years

It's really fucking nice to see a totally unbiased opinion. Black Veil Brides have had so much hate for their look and people (hardcore old school metal fans) automatically hate their music (usually without even listening to it) because of the way they chose to look. They're a really fucking talented bunch of guys and, last I checked, you don't listen to music with your eyes. Who cares how they look. And for the record, they don't even dress that way anymore and haven't for almost 10 years.

The man talking at the start of the song is Andy (the lead singer)s grandad. They got him to do it for the video. He’s actually really supportive of BVB and the reason they are called black veil brides is because Andy’s grandma was a nun.

If you like this song, you'll enjoy any of their other videos even more. This is actually one of their weakest ones imo. Perfect Weapon, Fallen Angels, Rebel Love Song, Legacy, In The End, Coffin, and Faithless all by Black Veil Brides are all awesome. I'm not sure if Faithless has a video, but the others do and are worth a watch/reaction :)

@@returnedplague it cant be super heavy. Yea we may like it but Alex gravitates more towards a melodic tone. Black would be the perfect song to get him to start listening to more AA.

Listen to Unholy Confession by Avenged Sevenfold. The riffs at the beginning of the Knives And Pens sounds the same. A7X created very iconic riffs in metalcore in their early days and I think you will love the old A7X songs.

Riffs are most of the time taken from other artists and remade. How completely different they are from the original depends on what the remaker thinks sounds good. Hence, the point of influence.
