My first ever gig was Mötorhead, in Leicester, 1980, aged 14. I sneaked out the house, walked the seven miles to town and at the end of the night swapped 10 John Player Blues for a t shirt with the t shirt bloke as he'd run out. Got caught by my dad sneaking back in the small hours. My ears were ringing, I was grounded for a month and mum refused to wash my mötorhead shirt as it looked horrible! Worth it!!

Now, the way to hear this is to put your head between two BIG speakers and crank it up until your eyeballs vibrate and your tooth fillings drop out! That's the way it sounded on the many occasions I saw them play this back in the 80's. People at the front of the auditorium walked out afterwards looking like they'd been caught in an air strike. Just pure energy!!

Motorhead is my favorite band. I've seen them many times over the years. I have a tour shirt that says "Everything Louder Than Everything Else". That and what Lemmy once said, when you leave our show your ears should be bleeding. Listen to the recommendation of Kevin Eather, The Chase is better... I also suggest Love Me Like a Reptile. I'm 69 and I've been there since their beginning. Even Lemmy in the band Hawkwind.
