I love watching people react to Led Zeppelin. Those echo-y ethereal highs that Robert Plant used to be able to hit were amazing! Jimmy Page is the master of guitar and other instruments...he introduced me to the theremin, which is a very fun instrument and I have one now. Plus John Bonham, one of the best drummers ever...I've heard drummers say he wasn't that impressive, but they're playing double bass, whereas he had only a single bass drum. And overlooked, I think, the talent of John Paul Jones on keyboards. I grew up playing piano, (my mom taught, and had a masters from Eastman School of Music, also did some time at Julliard, so I learned a lot from her), and The Rain Song is one of my fave Zep songs because of the keyboards. Also, the way they incorporated so many kinds of music into their songs was amazing. They definitely gave me appreciation of music genres I might not have experienced without them. Watching people realize the talent of this group is a lot of fun for me.

And that's up against REALLY stiff opposition in the 70s!

John Paul Jones is one of the most underrated bassist of all time. His keyboard playing was amazing as well.

I have some Norwegian Ancestry as well as a lot of Scottish and Irish amongst other northern European and English ancestry. So it really resonates with me too lol! I can just imagine the Vikings landing on the shores & going to battle and taking over!

Less and less "Zep is God" fans, like myself, are saying "Zep cover band". Most now accepting where Zep left off... Greta Van Fleet. All 25 and under, and didn't come into their band already certified rockstars... GVF just three young bros and their HS buddy... thank God for their accidental lil brother Josh, killing it with his voice. Go GVF!

@@REDHEADSARETOPS I like GVF, but there are actual cover bands, also. I don't go to rock concerts these days but I have caught "Get the Led Out" 4 times. Hearing LZ live with all of the parts on the records covered by six musicians is a lot of fun.

I saw them at the 1969 ATL Pop Festival....amazing!!

I saw them in 1971 when I was barely fourteen. They opened the show with the Immigrant Song. No opening act. They played for over 3 hours. They did 4 encores. I'm not lying when I say it changed my life. I got to see them three more times. There's never been another concert, another band, that even came close.

Was wondering if anyone would comment on this. I came to Iceland on my honeymoon in '74 and the younger generation was still talking about the concert. Now Iceland has its own vibrant music scene with Kaleo, Monsters & Men, Sigurós, Björk...the list is long.
