We react to Immigrant Song from a live 1972 concert. This track is pure sonic madness! This one, they've taken it to a whole new level. The bass by John Paul Jones and John Bonham's drumming sets the tone for an impending battle, while Robert Plant's vocals and Jimmy Page's guitar work create this eerie and mystical soundscape that's both captivating and spine-chilling. It's like we're witnessing an epic Viking war in musical form, and we can't get enough of it! And the fact that the whole thing is over quickly is mind-blowing. This song isn't just frighteningly good, it's downright bone-rattling! Led Zeppelin truly knew how to create timeless classics!

I have no idea why it's such a turn on to watch another culture dig on what we grew up on... right?!! PLUS - does anyone else feel chills when watching these videos with these brothers?? Why do I feel the chills of the magic of these original masters aka Zep sharing the magic of who they were with newbies??? It's like - Welcome to the Club Brothers... and thank you for honoring the legends that have rocked our world since childhood!!!

I love watching people react to Led Zeppelin. Those echo-y ethereal highs that Robert Plant used to be able to hit were amazing! Jimmy Page is the master of guitar and other instruments...he introduced me to the theremin, which is a very fun instrument and I have one now. Plus John Bonham, one of the best drummers ever...I've heard drummers say he wasn't that impressive, but they're playing double bass, whereas he had only a single bass drum. And overlooked, I think, the talent of John Paul Jones on keyboards. I grew up playing piano, (my mom taught, and had a masters from Eastman School of Music, also did some time at Julliard, so I learned a lot from her), and The Rain Song is one of my fave Zep songs because of the keyboards. Also, the way they incorporated so many kinds of music into their songs was amazing. They definitely gave me appreciation of music genres I might not have experienced without them. Watching people realize the talent of this group is a lot of fun for me.

Great to see u guys enjoying Zep so much. They played a gig in Iceland in early 1970, the singer Robert Plant was inspired to write this song about Viking raiders/explorers. That cry at the start was a Viking war cry. They came back from Iceland and opened their show with this song at the massive Bath Festival in England. Of course no one had ever heard it before and the audience was completely steamrolled.

Led Zeppelin's songs tended to have three themes: classical blues heart-break, love songs, and this strain of songs that are like sound-tracks to mythological tales. There is no other band that could depict epic mythology in music like LZ.

John Bonham not only had incredible stamina, he hit the drums so hard! He hit the drums twice as hard as any other drummer! Legend.

So many reactions to LED lately, and it brings a big grin to my face (having grown up with my brothers cranking LED in the bedroom next door). Every reaction so far has been folks barely able to contain their brain and body while experiencing the music. Well, imagine that times fifty hearing LED in the 70s. My mom would scream upstairs, "Turn that down!". My dad's gift to us was, "Oh, let them have their music".

*They were loved so much back then because when you got a Zeppelin album, you got an album full of really good songs. I had them all and you would want to play them from start to finish without skipping any songs. The following may explain how good their songs are; The Beatles recorded 213 songs and have sold the most albums by a rock band/group....Led Zeppelin recorded just 108 songs and have sold the second most albums by a rock band/group. I do hope you continue reacting to more Zeppelin. The drummer, John Bonham died in 1980...and his death was the end of Zeppelin. They decided not to go on without him. If you react to their song Kashmir....I hope you react to Kashmir - Live - Celebration Day. The original members (all near 60yrs of age at the time) got back together for this concert...along with John Bonham's son, Jason.*

While this song did stand out in the seventies when it came out, it also fit in with the sounds of the time. There was lots of hard rock with vocal caterwauling and heavy, driving, blues-influenced riffs, groups like Deep Purple, for instance.

I was 9 the first time I heard Led Zeppelin back in the day and they blew my mind! I was just starting to pay more attention to music. I’ve been a zeppelin fan since 1968-1969. My only regret was I wasn’t old enough to see them, and then when I was John Bonham, the drummer had passed away, and then they broke up.

Led Zeppelin was the first band to own their own jumbo jet, they named it Starship. Led Zep never had a number 1 single, in fact they didn't even have one top 40 hit song because they never released their songs as singles, only albums. Their strategy literally paid off. Every concert tour was huge football stadiums totally sold out sometimes for multiple nights, each band member got wheelbarrows full of money for every tour.

Guys you have to hear the live 1973 Version of Stairway to Heaven as well as Since I've Been Loving You . Another is " levee breaks" oh too many to state. But one thing about Led Zeppelin's live performances are the they are never the same! You could have gone to two different live shows back then and hear different versions of Since I've Been loving you or stairway to Heaven! They were famous for that! Best Band EVER!!!!

A little history on this video. The video was from a concert in Australia, however the audio they used was from a concert in California that was matched up to the video. The 2 live California concerts were combined to create the live album How The West Was Won.

The 1970s..... We had no internet...no subscription radio .....no smartphones....no cable..... We had 3 channels ABC, NBC & CBS ...on a clear day 4 PBS ...later in the decade UHF was introduced and, again, on a clear day we had access to 2 independent channels.... The 1970S AM and FM radio airwaves were the only really what you would call 'mobile' entertainment..... And those airwaves were full of amazing music brought to us by an incredible group of musicians and bands. You could hardly change the channel without finding a GREAT song! We were spoiled....

Yes, it was in Shrek 3 and The School of Rock as well as Thor. Jimmy Page notoriously blocked people from using Zepp's music in movies commercials and games for the longest time. But right around the time the three movies you mentioned came out, he started allowing them to use the songs. Ironically, most people now a days know The Immigrant Song the most of their songs because of those movies. Even though they have several songs that are bigger songs for them. But because of the movies, this tends to be the Zepp song people know the most now.

You have to check out some of Zeppelin's blues songs! Top notch! I Can't Quit You, The Lemon Song, Since I've Been Loving You, are three of their best. Also, Zeppelin's live stuff is great, but their studio performances are much cleaner and better to listen to for the first time in my opinion.
