Excellent videos! I appreciate the through explanations. It’s wonderful to know how quickly post op recovery will be! My surgery is in 3 weeks. I’m not as good a shape as the patient but want to be in the best condition before surgery. I have been doing most of these exercises for a month so that the muscles are stronger. Thank you!
I had a hip replacement on March 13, after 7 wks, I dislocated twice, 4 days apart. It was horrible!!! My surgeon said he had the ball at the wrong angle so, I then needed a revision which I had May 21st. This has been a horrible experience all the way around. The pain has been brutal and progress, like molasses. They said it would go like this unfortunately. I’ve had a therapist once a week here for 3 weeks. She’s had me doing PT but even though I’m 5-6 weeks post op, my therapy’s more of this two week in progress. The therapist is done now and I’m on my own looking forward to what PT I should continue with and how many reps etc. I’m doing the ones in this video now actually but, I don’t know when to move on exactly?? Depending on my pain level I guess???? Thank you for this video and ANY ADVICE you may have! I really appreciate it!!!!!
Im like scared of doing exercises. My walking and pain is better ,but have problems sitting where i feel like some nerve pain kicks in. Im on day 9 since surgery
Thanks. Great video and information. Just a comment that language is super important. It's not your bad leg It's your bionic leg, or your amazing leg. I am at week 2 post hip replacement. So difficult to find exercises that are aimed at the athlete. I would like to know about how much upper body work I can do. It all depends on the approach the surgeon took. So we may all be a little different. Surgeon said I could do chin ups. But I feel a bit nervous about it.
I've come home from re-hab to do outpatients re-hab. Hopefully when I see the physio I can get some exercises to extend me a little more than the standard ones. Just getting physically bored now. Day 13 post op. Feel I need to exercise.
Also meant to say that my groin pain is virtually non-existent now. This was the worst pre-op. Just experiencing muscle discomfort from the wound which is healing well. :)
