Hiring a RED RHINO 4000 to crush 13 tonne of old roofing tiles & house bricks! -Recycling Roof Tiles

Hey Guys,
Welcome back to our channel!
We were able to recycle and reuse 13 tonne of old roofing tiles and house bricks, we used a red rhino 4000 crusher to crush these into hardcore ready to use for our extension. Eventually all the floors in the bungalow will be dug out and going back in as we have damp issues and need to put a DPM down. This is a great way to recycle roof tiles and bricks if you are doing a full renovation project like us! Let us know in the comments if you think this is a good idea when you are doing a roof replacement.
What our channel is about:
We bought this semi-detached bungalow in August 2022 and given ourselves 3years to flip the property and sell on. We have a target budget of £70,000! Natasha is the editor and video maker, while Rhys is the builder (a carpenter by trade). We plan on doing 95% of the work ourselves to keep costs down.
This channel is for documenting our experiences - Good or Bad. This is our first time doing anything like this with full times jobs! Can we stick within our budget? I feel tired just watching that. You must have been exhausted after that weekend. Putting cost saving aside its brilliant to see all that rubble re-used.

Hi Matt, thanks for the comment, we have already forgotten the pain of shifting it all! 😂 at the time it was the cheapest option for us and I think has worked out great 👌

Hi both , I Have been keen to see the brick crusher in action and have to say it’s impressive peace of kit . I think what we all need to realise is this represents a responsible approach by your good selves , so forget about what may or may not be the most economical solution . This approach is without doubt a game changer , that can take a 1930s properly and drag it into the 20th century , which is by no mean a small achievement . And most importantly as with many building projects you are not braking into new ground , but are adapting and modify an existing dwelling within its own footprint . We would all do well to learn from your endeavour , and exploit what we already have . Rather than denigrate and abuse our limited resources , God bless you both as always . Kind regards as ever

Thank you so much for your kind words! Really means a lot at the moment while we are struggling to stay motivated and up beat through these wet, cold winter months. We’re glad you can see the positive side of this project, because we can’t see that vision anymore 😂 but as spring comes closer and the nights get longer I know we will find that motivation and happy place once again🙌

Thanks for the comment, like you liked the video. Yes only threw away the broken and cut ones. We have around 100 left that we will be keeping just incase :)

How much fuel were you getting through over say and 8 hour day buddy?

I had it running for about 10-12 hours and used £10 of diesel

It’d be interesting to know what the price of a grab lorry and buying back it would have cost in comparison. I doubt you’d beat the price of what you paid for the crusher but definitely curious 👍

I think it would have been two trucks at £280+ vat to remove, then we need a minimum of 15 tonne to go back in which would be about £395+ vat . But do to timing/ storage I would have bought it back in jumbo bags at a higher rate, so I believe I’ve saved around £600-£1000 depending on how I was going to purchase new hardcore 👍
