This was a great little film! Music was great especially "Never Forget" and "Hiro's Song"!!! RIP Carrie. Wish we could have seen more of your acting chops and hear more of your singing voice!
Sunrise, city skies Never thought I'd ever write this song But I'll find Peace of mind Back in the place where I belong And I will never forget the way you made me feel You set me free with a lovin' touch so real The way you held out your net to catch my falling soul Oh Hiro, you loved me just enough to let me go Alone I'd given up hope Watchin' as the days just passed me by But fate had something else in mind I knew it when I saw you in the corner of my eye And I will never forget the way you made me feel You set me free with a lovin' touch so real The way you held out your net to catch my falling soul Oh Hiro, you loved me just enough to let me go I just couldn't see Thought I'd sung out of key Spent my life hanging in the shadows But I found harmony of my own melody If you like you can sing it with me C'mon shout it with me This time I'm doin' it right If you could see me now you'd be so proud I've found I'm fine and winning the fight But everywhere I turn I see your face in the crowd And I will never forget the way you made me feel You set me free with a lovin' touch so real The way you held out your net to catch my falling soul Oh Hiro, you loved me just enough to let me go ❤️❤️❤️
“You loved me just enough to let me go...” I think that was the hook line that made me remember this song. I think, I watched it when I was in class 8 or 9. Then I was 13 years old, Now, I’m 24.
From the movie Tokyo Pop 1988. I remember recording this on VHS late at night because it was too late for me to stay up to watch it. I had no idea what it was about but took a chance. It turned out to be a nice funny rom-com & glad I watched it to the end because this song was a delight & when I needed cheering up I had it on demand to replay. I played it that much that the VHS tape got warped lol. Glad it's on here to reminisce, so thanks for the upload. RIP Carrie. You did good xxx
I loved this movie as well. I was a teenager when this movie was showed in Hungary. It became one of my favorites. I am glad to hear this song after a long time. Thank you.
Carrie Hamilton was Carol Burnett's first born. Carrie recovered from Drug addiction and went on to have a very successful career on Television 📺 in the series "Fame", on Stage in the musical "Rent" as well as on Film, in this independent movie 🍿🎥 So sad that Carrie died age 38, from pneumonia, related to her lung cancer. Carrie's mother Carol Burnett has just turned 90 years old. So heartbreaking when a mother looses a child, at any age. RIP 😞 Carrie Hamilton. Love from Australia 🌹❤️
I watched this movie when I was a kid and it was very good. More people this generation should find this movie and actually watch it. Just goes to show how people who want to peruse their singing career, is really hard.
I agree with Dunross3. We were just a few of the people who saw this movie. She really had a nice voice. I'm glad I came across this video. It brings back fond memories. Thanks for sharing it with us.
@ Chris Lynch...I don't think it's out on DVD, probably too obscure. I bought it on eBay on VHS. I love offbeat movies so finally bought a new VHS/DVD player. Works for me!
While the song it a bit generic, I really like it because it shows her growth and maturity as a person. Wendy who just arrived in Tokyo would never sing such a sentimental song.
