Good Lord! I remember getting one of these back in the 80's. Model shop got one in but didn't know anything about them. Such a great kit, came with loads of hop-ups as standard, fully ballraced etc out of the box! Awesome little buggy!

Hi Wade. I own 3 of these and I noticed you discussing how flexi the top plate is on yours. You'll find the previous owner has removed the steel brace which bolts down to the lower chassis and supports the top plate as it fastens to that. The ESC you pulled out is the location where it was meant to be.

Thanks Jason I figured you had a few 😄 I cleaned her up a bit last night and went through the manual - the bracket you mention was in the bag with all the extras so I will get that in there 👍 Shockingly there was an upgrade kit included with stronger front & rear gearbox pieces, front & rear uprights, hinge pins, etc. - I don’t know if I’ll put them on or not because this will only get a light run at best. Pretty cool to have those especially since they weren’t mentioned in the auction 🤩 Body needs a little trimming to fit better here & there - gonna need shock seals as well if I’m ever gonna get oil back in they’re all warped & leaking unfortunately. Thanks for checking it out!

Wow!!! A Hirobo 4WD! I bought one of their RC helicopters (hirobo shuttle) during a trip to Tokyo back in 07. The bodyshell does resemble their heli canopy. I’m impressed by that belt design, I was thinking that it’s a 2WD until you mentioned how stealth that belt drive was. Looking forward to see it drive! 👍

Thanks T you’re right it does favor a helicopter body I never noticed that! Yeah man they really hid/managed the belt tunnel well in this design. I’m even more impressed with the engineering that when into this car than I thought I’d be but considering they made/make helicopters I guess a car is relatively simple 😄 Do you fly helis?!?

@@wadeskelton7585 I started RC with helicopters in 2005, the learning curve was really steep due to the technology back then, it required concurrent stick controls to the 4 channels just to do a stationary hover. Nowadays we have 6-axis gyros, GPS, optical positioning hold, sonar sensors so you could fly it with a few taps on the phone app. LOL

That’s very cool man I’m not surprised to find out you’re a copter guy come to think of it based on all the crazy technical projects you’ve done! My buddy just got his first heli and instead of going with something basic he bought a radio running open TX and he is completely overwhelmed - he’s had it over 6 weeks and he’s barely managed to get the thing more than a foot off the deck without it flipping over. The first day he nearly chopped an arm off 😄 Cool stuff brother 👍👍👍

Wow, I guess he’s gotten a collective pitch heli that can do aerobatics, instead of a beginner fixed pitch model with auto level and altitude hold (such as the JJRC M05 heli). Setting up a collective pitch 3D heli in OpenTX is really quite a handful. I hope he keeps a good distance and eventually manage to hover it, he needs to keep the tail of the heli between his 4 o’clock and 8 o’clock at all times until he is able to keep the heli hovering very still at one spot at waist level. That’s the only way to master the controls for an RC heli. :)

This video is killing it! a lot of views in a short period of time. Another RC car that is new to me! Is that a Futaba 112B ESC,? It looks a little precarious in there. Man, those shocks look like they need a little beefier springs!😂 Congrats on surpassing 100 subscribers (over the next few days)!

Thanks brother it’s a neat little car and I’ve passed on quite a few on EBay over the years so I’m glad to finally get my hands on one. The springs are actually plenty stiff but they are leaky AF and what gets me is the screw at the bottom holding each shock on the lower arm is like maybe a 1.5 or a 2mm which probably wouldn’t hold up too well to even a mild jump but whatevs I’m not jumping this pretty girl anyways 😄 I’ll have to check on that ESC model I didn’t even notice the number I was too excited

@@wadeskelton7585 I had 2 112b speed controllers. They are decent as long as you keep it at 15 turns or more (ideally more like 21 or higher but I like to live in the edge lol). The only thing I don’t like is reversed with all or nothing.

I had one of these as a kid but never got it going. It was given to me in pieces. Dad ordered me parts but I don't remember what happened. Very cool to see one whole and in 1 piece
