I was once in a classical concert in the U.S, and almost shot myself, when 700 people started clapping randomly for 3-4 minutes. Like f*ing h*//, I know its a beautiful piece, I dont have to shout it loud, that I understand basic human emotions. Sadly noone gave me their AR50 nor their deserteagle, all left it in the clothhanger.
I attended a concert at my old music college recently, & those pesky kids half scared me to death. I would have failed he entrance exam today without a doubt.
I absolutely love this! I'm playing the basic Ira Gershwin arrangement but this blows it of the water completely! Damn that Yamaha is taking a beating!
When you see her eyes in the camera, and see the music behind them, it's so hard to look at them because though I play piano and love it, it feels like a shame I'm not enjoying this as much as she is.
Respectfully, are you speaking in an audience member's perspective where these clapping removes you from the enjoyment of the music? I feel that if I were the performer, I'd very much appreciate the clapping during performance, and it looks like Hiromi enjoys it too.
Audience clapping just reeks of special needs kids class. Just what are the clappers hoping to bring to the enjoyment of other audience members? "Hey look, I can clap along to the rhythm." Uhhh the performer is keeping that rhythm already. "Yeah but isn't this a sing-along?" What's hilarious with Hiromi is when the mildly-retarded clapping audience is confronted by her jazz breaks.
Ok man, i don't know if Hiromi really like the clapping during performance, she smiles cause she is sweet. My opinion is just clapping ruins music. ( I hope that you understand cause I don't speak english so i translate in french : je ne sais pas si Hiromi apprécie vraiment les applaudissements quand elle joue. Elle sourit pqu elle est a un bon concactère mais je trouve que les applaudissements gâchent la musique et l'alourdissent )
The joy and enjoyment of music. America has lost this due to the pressure to "make a hit" instead of just expressing and enjoying the experiences. (General statement I already know there are exceptions to that. )
While this performance certainly showcases her skills, I don't think it's really what I want to listen to when I'm expecting Gershwin; It makes me think of an old 33 record that was cranked up to 78
Yo Girl build a swing in your back yard and write/arrange a tune in the TEMPO you swing on that swing...It don't mean a thing if you don't have that swing.
