I don't know how spontaneous she is, or how well she can jam along with someone. Chick Corea or Herbie Hancock can play along with anyone on a song they've never heard before. I love Hiromi's music but I don't think she's that style of player, and the closer you get to playing stuff you've worked up, the more error-free you can do it. In contrast someone like Ralph Towner isn't afraid to color outside the lines and I think lives for improv. Personally I play more cut and dried, even my solos are pretty much built out of a kit of things I've played and practice and worked out before, and I can't jam as a sideman, but can play interesting things when I'm the main musician.

If you listen to a few of her different versions of I've Got Rhythm, you'll notice she is quite spontaneous and changes things up pretty often. @@LEOsoulMonarch I've also seen that tiny desk performance, and yeah it is like crazy techno in places, you can see she gets in this groove where she can just do whatever she feels like and it's right, punching out crazy unexpected twisted offbeats and rhythms.

Definitely in the EXCEEDINGLY short list, but there are (and were, which I realize is outside the bounds of your statement) others, Yuja Wang, Van Cliburn, and a handful more. And, remember, we've never even gotten to HEAR the Bachs, Mozarts, etc. of the past. No question, though, that she is ultimate top tier. I saw her playing two completely unrelated time signatures that REALLY didn't mesh, one in each hand, and it looked flawless, don't even know how you do stuff like that.

Yes she is an unbelievable monster she is one of the best pianist I have ever heard in my life if she can dazzle us with I got rhythm than certainly she can and that’s a less with all of the Georgia Gershwin and great songs like the way you look tonight and Cherokee.

She's doing more feeling that thinking, I expect. The thinking was done in the years of practice and learning that led up to this.

I love how jazz musicians can play fast very fast even musically fast the more insane the better. She is one of the best I have ever heard and nothing tops I got rhythm like this ladies version does.

Yes she definitely is when I first heard this version of algorithm I thought to myself oh my goodness look out Tatum boy she is one of the best artist I’ve ever heard and she is fantastic all the way through. I would love to hear this awesome version on CD and even on vinyl.

Yes she definitely does the role such amazing charts and to play for 12 minutes straight which is great.

One of the best for sure. Don't forget Keith Jarrett, Chick Corea, Eldar Djangirov, Brad Mehldau, Jacob Collier.. There are quite a few who do different things who as awesome as what she does... and it's not always about technique. Some of them might not be as fast as she is but definitly have at least the same musical talent. Be careful with titles like that
