I recently saw a quote about how you can get better at something merely by thinking about it. I stopped riding for 13 years but constantly thought about proper technique and after getting back on a bike I was better, safer and faster than when I stopped

Buddy i am in the same exact boat. Now that I'm a decent amount of years older, I am more of a reserved rider with much more knowledge for sure. I started a family and pretty much just stopped riding because it was the grown thing to do at the time. My love of riding and eagerness to learn was driven even more because i missed it so much. I'm so glad to be back. 4 years ago an older friend of mine had a 1987 CR500 he bought brand new in 87 and it wasn't far off from still lolking new. He sold it to me for $2500 amidst a time that bike was well worth $6k at least. He baited me with thay deal to get me back into riding and i cannot thank him enough! What a bike to come back to riding with, I'll tell you! I am in love with that bike!! All that time thinking about riding made me like a born again rider with better than ever skill now!

Being obsessed with something is key. When it's all you can really think about you end up making so much progress. As I'm getting older I feel that starting to fade and it scares me. As you keep getting responsibilities and life takes up most of your mental energy it's feels harder to stay obsessed. I just blew my bike up, pretty tragic. Trying to get to spot in life where I can get another. Gives me an excuse to get a bigger bike. I literally melted my piston rings and broke off a chunk of it in the bottom end. I was holding it pinned everywhere nearly, it's time for something that makes me a little more scared

The amount of technique you can lose with not riding for years is crazy! I’m getting back on a bike after 20 years and it instantly showed me how much I’ve lost especially on a motocross track. The attack position you teach is KEY. Sitting too much when I first got back on was a big mistake.

Yo quick question! I have the GoPro hero12 and I’m using a chin mount on my helmet. What do you use for wind reduction besides the setting? Do you use any kind of case at all or just straight GoPro on the mount? And Are you uploading videos from the quick app or plugging GoPro directly into computer?

Just search for a foam cover on Amazon. Theyre cheap, and theyre the best wind noise cancel!

You think 46 is too old to learn motocross? Been riding street bikes for 26 years, but turns out most of that experience is useless and in some cases dangerously different.

No such thing as to old, although trail riding may be a better route, with just occasional track. Either or you could absolutely shred a bike at ur age, my dads 47 and rides both track and trail, and his dad is 76 going on 77 and rides both better than me and my step dad lol
