My posts recommending the 3 Very Potter musicals here on youtube keep getting deleted and I don’t know why. I don’t understand what I’m doing wrong as I know you guys would love them and they aren’t copyrighted so you wouldn’t have to edit them or worry about strikes. I’m so sad.
The worst part of the Hallows is them omitting the part where it turns out the death eaters were tracking anyone that said Voldemorts name. Which is why they appeared so fast at the Lovegoods as soon as Xeniphilious said it
I HATE that the movies cut out Kreachers tale. It was one of the fundamental foundational moments of Harry and Kreacher to the point that Kreacher led the house elf charge in Harry’s name during the battle at hogwarts, also not shown in the movies
Great reaction, guys! There's a deleted scene, after the Ministry infiltration disaster, where Ron explains to Harry and Hermione that he heard other Ministry workers talk about how Voldemort's name is now taboo. That's how they know to say "you know who" after that. No clue why they deleted that scene.
The movie editors really said read the original manuscript (the books 🤭) or scram! No explanations for purely movie watchers at all the last few movies haha
Very important bc in all previous movies really it was only ever Harry or Dumbledore that ever really said Voldemorts name. Then their allies as they became braver. Flagging the mention of the bame was smart
The scene where Harry and Hermione dance together is the most tender and mature moment in the entire series. Loved how dark and adult this chapter was.
There are so many random cameos of actors in this movie. 1. You caught the Duke from Bridgeton (he was just a background extra at the wedding then.) 2. The one from Voldemort's vision is indeed the Vecna actor from Stranger Things and one of the Volturi in Twilight. 3. Bill Weasley has also appeared in one of your reactions before. He's the main guy from About Time, the time-traveling romance.
One of my favorite moments from the books, it feels like there was context missing from this scene. In the books, Ron and Harry never discuss romantically liking Hermione, so Ron was never was sure that Harry didn't like her too. He's the 6th son, and it's clear his parents were trying for a girl, because they stopped after Ginny. All his older brothers are funny, cool, or smart, and anything he can do well, they've probably already done. His best friend is one of the most favorite wizards alive, and his family is very, very poor. He has felt lesser than his whole life, and he can let his insecurities get the better of him, but he is a good person, and I think he is the glue and the heart of the trio. "Harry crammed the broken locket into his pocket, knelt down beside Ron, and placed a hand cautiously on his shoulder. He took it as a good sign that Ron did not throw it off. “After you left,” he said in a low voice, grateful for the fact that Ron’s face was hidden, “she cried for a week. Probably longer, only she didn’t want me to see. There were loads of nights when we never even spoke to each other. With you gone…” He could not finish; it was only now that Ron was here again that Harry fully realized how much his absence had cost them. “She’s like my sister,” he went on. “I love her like a sister and I reckon she feels the same way about me. It’s always been like that. I thought you knew.” Ron did not respond, but turned his face away from Harry and wiped his nose noisily on his sleeve. Harry got to his feet again and walked to where Ron’s enormous rucksack lay yards away, discarded as Ron had run toward the pool to save Harry from drowning. He hoisted it onto his own back and walked back to Ron, who clambered to his feet as Harry approached, eyes bloodshot but otherwise composed. “I’m sorry,” he said in a thick voice. “I’m sorry I left. I know I was a--a--” He looked around at the darkness, as if hoping a bad enough word would swoop down upon him and claim him. “You’ve sort of made up for it tonight,” said Harry. “Getting the sword. Finishing off the Horcrux. Saving my life.” “That makes me sound a lot cooler than I was,” Ron mumbled. “Stuff like that always sounds cooler than it really was,” said Harry. “I’ve been trying to tell you that for years.” Simultaneously they walked forward and hugged, Harry gripping the still-sopping back of Ron’s jacket."
Great explanation..I think it is very heartwarming and kinda ironic that even though Ron was insecure about being a favorite, he was both Harry's and Hermione's favorite person.
I have to tell you, the moment Hedwig dies in the books... just like that... She has so much more character in the books than in the movies too, and in that moment as I read it, I put the book down and sobbed. This was a character by Harry’s side from the start of the book series, even before Ron and Hermione, so for years Hedwig had always been there with Harry, even in quiet moments alone. I was the same age as Harry through the series. I got the book as soon as it went on sale, in line and everything, so at that moment I also felt like so many other people must be experiencing the same feeling around the world... It was the first time I truly felt the weight of a childhood being ripped away. That nothing lasts forever, and if someone as pure and innocent as Hedwig could die so horribly... it was difficult to pick up the book and keep reading, with that moment at the very beginning.
Dobby's grave is a place you can visit. It where they filmed it at Freshwater Beach, Pembrokeshire, Wales. The local government banned people leaving socks as it was causing negative impact on the environment. Most people are now leaving stones.
13:13 - Don’t blame bill, blame the director 😂. Harry was there in the books, but he had used Polyjuice portion- he was there as a cousin of the Weasley’s - Barny Weasley I believe. I have NO idea why they kept the wedding and wrote that part out. Something really, really cool was that as he was at the wedding in the book, Luna (and only Luna) could still tell it was Harry, she brought her Dad over and introduced him. Luna has the purest sight, and kindest outlook in this entire series. ❤
The wedding wasn’t a ‘bad idea’ - it was heavily protected by a lot of strong magic, highly secret, and there was no guarantee something would go wrong at that exact moment 🤷♀️ But it’s a book/movie so obviously good drama for all heck to break loose then.
Also, it’s important to note that Harry doesn’t just have a random wand, he has Draco’s wand. He won the allegiance of Dracos wand, he snatched it out of his hand, and that is a very very big moment for the story. Maybe not for the movies because the storytelling is awful and none of the loose ends are tied but in the book that’s such an important moment that you don’t catch until the end
The Ministry had strong protection charms around the Burrow while Harry was there. (That's why Bellatrixes surprise visit and the fire in movie six feels a bit "off") That protection ended immediately when the Minister died. That warning was a life saver. After that Kingsley hade to run for it. He lived in hiding, like our three.
To be fair the burrow was hidden and protected but when the minister was killed they found it. btw Bryce probably doesn't know but Harry owns Sirius house and Kreacher and that's why he respond Harry's questions. btw number 2 it is THE invisibility cloak which was passed from father to son over generations.
In the films, James Potter is portrayed as being the stereotypical bully, likely in order to draw sympathy to Severus' character, but in the books, the antagonistic relationship between the two boys is much more even, as they take shot at each other whenever they could, like Harry and Malfoy do. Also, Severus knew more dark magic than any other student. And while James matured and became a good friend, good husband and good father, Severus became a Death Eater! Choices!
reason harry stopped saying voldys name is bc they placed a 'tracker' of sorts on saying "voldemort" because only those who stand against him name drop him like that (everyone on his side calls him dark lord, and if youre scared of him you call him he-who-shall-not-be-named) so when papa lovegood says "voldemort" thats why the death eaters popped up out of nowhere, also why the death eaters popped up at the cafe in the beginning because hermionie said "voldemort". hope this helps!
@@jwhite-1471 so sorry, what should i have used instead to please you, random person on the internet who felt the need to say something rude, when i was only trying to help explain answers to questions they had?
I bought Deathly Hallows the day it came out. I immediately went to a bar patio, ordered a drink and started reading. When I looked up, I could see 3 other people around me reading it as well.
I'm still annoyed they deleted the scene with Harry and aunt Petunia as well as the one with Harry and Dudley at the beginning of this movie. At the beginning, Harry and aunt Petunia are alone in the empty house, talking about how dangerous it is for the Dursleys to stay there. Harry tells her they'll torture them if they stay, and aunt Petunia replies "Do you think I don't know what they're capapble of? You didn't just lose a mother that night. I lost a sister." We don't talk much about aunt Petunia in the movies, but she was actually jealous of Lily for being a witch. She wrote to Dumbledore several times as a child after Lily got her letter, asking if the owl with her own letter got lost, and if she really couldn't go to Hogwart. She really really wanted to go there. As for Dudley, right as they're about to leave, Harry tells uncle Vernon "I'm just a waste of space, isn't that right Vernon?" as a call back. Dudley walks up to Harry, extends his arm, shakes Harry's hand, and tells him 'I don't think you're a waste of space". This was probably because Dudley was grateful Harry saved his life when they encountered the dementors in book five. Regardless, these few words lead to Harry and Dudley staying more or less in touch, exchanging Christmas cards, and seeing each other a couple times in their life. Both of those scenes together amount to about three minutes, and I think it was worth keeping them in the final product.
I'd be such shit at watching this with someone who hadn't seen it. At the "Dobby will always be there for Harry Potter" line, I am already tearing up. 😢 39:57
I always saw hedwig’s death as like the final moment that Harry’s childhood is officially over…he’s now experiencing the pain and reality of being an adult…
Wait, I’m lost! Is this a re-upload?! I thought you had already watched the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts movies!! 🤔 Am I imagining it? Maybe I have watched too many Harry Potter reactions 😅😂
Haven’t had water or heating for 2 days because we were getting a new pump and heating system and it has been soooo cold. It’s finally back and better than ever and I can sit and fully enjoy this video 😊 always love seeing you guys
In the fight at Malfoy manor, Harry won a number of wands so he has a choice. The goblin was inspecting the sword at the time of escape. Fun fact: the actress Hermione turned into for the ministry raid, is the real sister of Emma Thompson ( professor Trelawney)
The reason why Harry and his friends don't say Voldi's name here is because Voldi knows they are the only ones who calls him like that, so he made it so anyone who uses his name (most likely Potter) will summon the death eaters, that's also the reason why they pop at Luna's house when her dad says his name, something he wouldn't have done before. I also found it weird when I saw the movie so a friend told me this is explained in the book.
Harry has “the invisibility cloak”. It was passed down from father to son. In Goodrich’s Hollow the grave with the Dealthy Hallows Still Mobil was in Ignotis Perverals grave stone. Harry is a direct descendant, Peveral was suppose to be one of the three brothers in the tale.
I really liked the buildup of this movie, it made me that much more excited for the finale. Deathly Hallows Part 2 did not disappoint. I'm actually sad that this Harry Potter journey is coming to an end. I jump at every chance I get to rewatch Harry Potter, these movies are just incredible and they are a part of my childhood! ❤I can't wait for you guys to react to the last movie.
The radio playing in those months on the run was constantly just announcing a list of deaths or missing people, not sure if you heard those details but that’s one indication of a way to torture and manipulate the public constantly… it also was something to listen to in fear you would hear the names of people you love, which is partly relevant context for Ron and Harry fighting before Ron left.
Wow. We already at deathly hollows?! This has been such a good series to watch with you. The iconic hp movies. This is my favorite in the series I THINK. It’s hard to choose.
I was at the midnight premiere of Deathly Hallows Pt. 2 when it was released (I saw the 3D version), there were some traumatic deaths there...and a few jumpscare moments. Also, Domhnall Gleeson (Bill Weasley) is the real-life son of Brendan Gleeson (Alastor "Mad-Eye" Moody), which adds gravity to when Bill declares "Mad-Eye's dead."
As much as I DESPISE JK Terfling - one thing that’s always made me happy is that she apparently confirmed that Hermione didn’t actually erase her parents memories, simply placed a modification to them so that they thought they had no children, years later (After the war) Hermione meets her parents again in Australia and removes the modification and they remember her
Annoyingly they cut amazing scenes from these last two films that people wish they left in. Obviously, I won't say the scene cut from the next part. Deleted scene spoilers if you want to watch them yourself: But the one they cut in Part 1, that people wished they left in, is when the Dursleys left. They all said goodbye to Harry in various ways but Dudley matured and in his own way apologized to Harry for how they treated him. Petunia explained how he didn't just lose a mother, but she lost a sister that night too. Petunia and Vernon didn't explain to Dudley that Harry wasn't going with them and he asked why. Harry responded he would be a waste of space which I believe is a callback to what Vernon called him previously. Dudley went up to Harry and said, "I don't think you're a waste of space." Shook his hand and said goodbye to him.
You can go to dobbys gravesite in the uk. People leave things there. Mostly socks. I think the local govt has asked folks not to leave socks anymore. But you CAN go there, there a little monument.
Yes! Glad you finally got to the last two movies, looking forward to the last one soon. This is mostly a build-up to the last movie but still really good, and for me it was so sad when Hedwig and Dobby died, I always get teary eyed.
30:20 Uhh… Did you forget that Harry didn’t actually see his dad at the lake with the stag Patronus in the third movie? He really saw himself, and got confused? Anyway, besides that, the Patronus you are seeing here is a doe - no antlers.
i LOVE how perceptive Bryce is omg, like he remembers stuff that most first-time watchers either don't focus on or forget and it's honestly so refreshing. i feel like you guys would be the perfect reaction channel to watch *DARK* and i really hope you guys do end up reacting to that someday!!! it's probably the most brilliant show netflix has ever put out in my opinion.
24:55 "where are they?" ahhh I KNOW this one! It's relatively near to where I live in God's Own Country (Yorkshire). It's a place called Malham Cove and it's stunning both from the bottom and from the top. I'd recommend a walk up there if you're ever adventuring the UK!
Since it wasn't clear: Harry has the invisibility cloak bc he is a descendent of one of the Peverall brothers and so is voldemort (they are distantly related!)
Bagshot is an actual surname for real hahaa. I went to school with a james bagshot and a lad called justin shufflebottom. Which has forever been my favourite surname hahaha. Ps. Finallyyyyyy ❤
It's crazy to think you can actually visit dobbys grave in real life its still there. I think along with the house they built for the movie that they used for the safe house. Also in the last movie where we see Snapes past the tree we see him appear out of when he first meets lilly is an actual real tree you can visit
In the book Hermione has Ron hide underneath the invisibility cloak so that way Harry and Hermione could be seen by the Death Eaters when they were at Lovegood's place. That way they would see that he only called them when he was actually there but they screwed up and didn't get him in time because they took their own sweet time. Although he did turn Harry in or try to it was because his daughter was taken and all three of the golden Trio knew that and did not hold it against him
I always love the Seven Potters scene, both in the book and the movie. I love the banter and seeing Tonks and Lupin, and Bill and Fleur together. Also, the last time we see all of those characters together.
One some what big miss of this movie is not explaining how Voldemort's followers could find them so quickly, it would've taken 1 second to explain. They made the world "Voldemort " a Tabu, it means that, whoever said his name would be immediately located. They did that because, normally, whoever said it is part of the resistance or supports Harry. Thats why Harry looks at Luna's father and ask "who sr". In the books is very clear that Harry wanted the bad guys to see that Lovegood tried to deliver Harry to them, in orther to help save Luna. In the movies, this loses all the meaning, and made Luna' father a "traitor ".
AHHHH, SO THE HEARTBREAK BEGINS! But at least we have 3 charming handsome guys to usher in the end. Also, Rob is Slytherin?! I think you and Bryce mixed up your Robes.
They can’t say “Voldemort “ bc there’s a trace on his name. Think how quickly the death eaters came at Lunas dads house after he said “Voldemort “. (Immediately). So glad you guys are finally finishing these! Bout forgot you were watching them 😂
Harry has THE Invisibility Cloak from the story, passed down from his ancestors. Other Invisibility Cloaks, lose their effect over time, unlike his. He is related to the original Peverell family (who created the Hallows), but so is Voldemort. Who's family had the resurrection stone passed down in a ring, it was why Dumbledore put the ring on his hand. He knew it was a horcrux, but the excitement of the stone being on the ring was too tempting and it cursed him.
The Cloak of Invisibility was passed down to Ignotus's son. Ignotus's son had no male heirs so his oldest daughter, Iolanthe, inherited it instead. The Peverell family died in the male line around this time, but the heirloom was passed down the generations through the female line, the Potters, as Iolanthe had married Hardwin Potter from Stinchcombe, In the 20th century, the Cloak eventually ended up in the hands of Henry Potter, a Wizengamot member, who passed it to his eldest son❤❤❤
26:16 Rob I can’t believe you don’t remember this from the book! 😂 Voldemort put a trace on the word “Voldemort” because he knew that Harry and his friends weren’t l afraid to say it and he wanted to find them. If they were to say his name aloud, the Death Eaters would be there within seconds (that’s how they found the gang in the coffee shop, after the wedding). Also what happened at Luna’s.
37:54 interesting...I actually really liked that they didn't add music to this scene. it emphasizes all the other sounds we hear while still making it suspenseful (their running/movement, spells, breathing, etc.). it makes it more real. I don't think every scene needs music to create that feeling.
I'm only 12 minutes into this reaction but idk if anyone mentioned that Luna's dad is Otto Hightower from House of the Dragon (and lots of other things but I know you guys watch HOTD). I always loved Hermione since reading the books as a kid but she was such a boss in this movie, she held the group together and solidified herself as my favorite book character. I used to have actual nightmares about being on the run from Death Eaters, they are extremely terrifying... even more so in the book with the Snatchers.
In my opinion it was a huge mistake to not have Dobby return in any of the movies after the 2nd one, and then they just kill him off in the 7th. Minimal character development on that part. Dobby's death was literally the saddest thing in all of the books, I was a wreck reading it.
They all had to stop saying his name bc the reason people wouldn't say it in the first place was bc it had a curse on his name so anyone who said it could be listened to or traced almost. So when he came back and things started getting real again everyone had to stop saying it. Before when Voldemort was presumed dead people were scared to say his name still in fear he was still alive... which they were actually correct in... Harry being young and not understanding the real reason they never spoke his name realized as he got older and as the curse took affect again, that he could not speak it again.... But yeah, it is hilarious how he all of a sudden stops saying it. A LOT was left out of the movies of course... So much good back stories and such...
The dursleys don't just dip harry sends them away and Hermione erased herself from her parents memories because muggles are in danger because of voldemort esp muggles directly linked to wizards
Ngl, I waited for them to post the part 2 reaction before watching this part now lol. I love HP but the first part can be a lil slow at times, especially if watching with someone who is potentially expecting constant action (which is more part 2 than 1)
