This is kind of the vocal equivalent of Stevie Ray Vaughan's guitar playing - thanks for doing this. He was doing Al Jarreau's version of Spain, a Chick Corea (keyboard jazz master) song - he added more to the scat section than Jarreau did. Jarreau is Mister Smooth and his voice comes closer to being an instrument than most I have heard, but Gary is fantastic here.
That is one of Chick's most famous instrumental. It's so sad that we lost him. I had the pleasure of meeting him in person when his band Return To Forever reunited. I got to meet all of them after the show. One of the greatest moments of my life. I would really like for you to react to Chick Corea & Hiromi Uehara performing "Spain" together on piano. I saw them to do it live. It's amazing" Chick Corea & Hiromi - "Spain" ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BRU1o-sCnqY.htmlsi=8KbDN84LTvHB5C79
This is "Gary Valenciano's" cover of "Al Jarreau's" cover of "Chick Corea's" 'Spain' witch opening part is the Theme from "Concierto de Aranjuez" by "Joaquín Rodrigo", and the rest is jass improvs over Samba. You have to listen to Al's version. This is a funny one: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3lvpgGznFsk.html (Live Under the Sky '90)
@@MaddyReactions most of the greatest jazz players of a time were mostly black. He just blew that misconception right out of the water. Never put anyone in a box of your making.
