One of the most well-known "comedianesses" ever known to the human race. Here's one of the songs that she did on a singing album, from the late 1960's. This is Moms' arrangement of Paul Anka's "My Way."
Moms was one of the most endearing and beloved people in our history. I was at my brother’s for Labor Day and we sat around and played many of Moms videos. She had heart, wisdom, and an undeniable wit. This holiday Moms was with us. She will always be with us.
A pure delight and a class act! I remember seeing 'Moms' Mabley on the TV shows like if it was just yesterday. Ed Sullivan loved having her on his show. We haven't had a decent comedienne in this country since 'Moms' Mabley....
thank u 4 puttin this out here. I will be featuring moms maberly at the block club party. I believe that her words of wisdom may benefit this generation in my hood. this song will be the finally. pray for us, too many have been taken out by violence and accident.
I'm a little young and never had the opportunity to see broadcasts of her on various television shows or in person, but of the several video clips that I've seen in my life so far, she was very sincere and didn't have to TRY to be funny, b/c she WAS funny! Thanks for your comment!
That's the same album I have. It's not really Gospel, but she does several religious songs on it. I also like the song she did called "There's A Baby."
