I think the obvious solution is to make the bans not streak based. Every 5 episodes, give a ban to whoever lost the majority of those episodes. Simple, clean, consistent.

Gage has won with his King of the Skull Servants several times, and its even on the tablemat! Nothing is wrong with Gage playing it again to try and keep Cimo off balance. Just because he went 0-2 this game does not mean it was a Throw. At all.

Oh yeah, Gage who has been using the same deck over and over again to get back into the lead and ever since suddenly realizes its a bad deck to play right when a third loss would enable Cimo to hit it. Can't wait to see Gage roll that same Zoodiac next week too. This was a purposeful throw, don't lie to yourself about it.

hydrohgedon gives me a small hit of nsatologia......i had said 3 hydro''s in my side deck in my top 16 sjc deck that was a monarch deck with 3 times seal, 2 drop off, mask of darkness, 3 thestloase and reaper.......dark world were revently out. i would do everything in my power to kill their hand and limit their cars. nearly half the people i played ran 3-4 dark world in the side deck. i ended up taking out all of the thestalos, drop off, 1-2 mask and then comp[etely change the deck. it caused them to have all those dead draws and i took a aggro approach and just beat over then monarch anytime i needed to clear. i was 8-2(last round lost to someone who got caught 3 times cheating)

As an anti throw mechanic, since they do it every time they reach a win streak, make it so every 7 wins, they get a structure deck. Yeah. you lose 2 cards to a ban but you get a whole structure deck. This would make it 10000 times more competitive.

Good idea. Doesn't really change the incentive too much but every subsequent loss in a streak becomes a ban after the third, so it's actually 5 cards that would get banned on a 7 match streak.

Considering it's a ban every loss after the third, maybe bring it down to 5 wins (which is still 3 bans), but in general this isn't a bad idea. However, I don't want to potentially create a snowball effect ala Season 1 - the winner's wheel is already pretty powerful. I'd really rather just get make the bans not streak based altogether. For example, they could give a ban/unban every 5 episodes, to whoever lost the majority of those 5 episodes.

I'm thinking, would any new issues arise from just making the loss counter cumulative? So instead of 3-loss streak = ban, change it to *every 3rd loss = ban.* At that point, bans are just an inevitability, and there'd simply be no reason to throw at all, right? It's a super straightforward solution.

I don’t think Gage threw, he’s just not familiar with the deck. I’m game 2 there were some better options at his disposal, but he missed them, probably because he’s not super familiar with it.

What do you mean Gage didn't throw the game? He 110% did! Why on Earth would he not play his best deck which is the Pend/Zodiac deck. His only excuse to play Skull Servant is literally because of the month of October coming up. Bruh . . . First of all, it's not even October yet and let's not forget that these guys record time. Videos anywhere from a week to nearly a month ahead of time before the release of the video. Second of all, why would Gage win this match just so Alex can ban a card from Gage's collection or Unban one of his own the next game . . . Not only that, but by having Alex win, whatever he spins on the wild card board, nothing is good. Gage will literally have Alex spin a wheel with 2/5's of the entire thing being worthless. The only wild card worth having are the promo and the Starlight, which is very slim to win. Alex gets on Ultra rare and what on Earth is he gonna get? A Red-Eyes baby card? That card is useless. That's playing Prog strategy.

I agree. The idea that the deck that's ON THE MAT for its awesome moments and has proven itself to be surprisingly strong and has a surprising complexity to it as well somehow means that Gage was throwing is just ridiculous. Seriously, every time there's a Loss when someone has won 2 games in a row there's always accusations of throwing. But do people really want to see the same tired Zoodiac/Magician deck again and again? No, not at all. So people should shut-up when the boys play non-meta decks and let them play them! Honestly, I'm hoping to see Cimo play Blue-Eyes after those pulls from last time!

Cimo starting with double charge instead of normaling solitaire and getting unizombie out of deck first, then seeing him punished for it made me so happy. Not that hard, deck thin first then mill the cards

You say he was punished but how is he punished when he still won both games? Maybe if Gage didn't throw the game by playing a bad deck just so he can avoid the banning, force win Alex to spin bad wild cards on the wheel, and play his Pend/Zoo deck like he should have - then yeah Alex would have been cooked hard for a fumble like that.

Man what's with the Joey slander this episode? The anime made him look like a joke, but in both the anime and the manga, he has canonically beat Yugi (The Pharoah) after Battle City (We know because he gets his Red-Eyes back in Millenium World, something he lost and told Yugi he'd only earn back in a duel against him). Joey is a good duelist!

He forgot to mention that Amazon Archer, a card banned in the OCG and Mater Duel for it's involvement in an FTK of some sort, is also in this set, also Gage just pointed out the problem Skull King always has, if you misplay or don't read your cards right or if your opponent can clear your board, you just ain't gonna win.

this was just the duel links pack, nearly everything except roids were good in the first few years of Duel Links, and realistically the legendary duelist sets all kinda suck until the Bakura pack adds the good Evil Heroes, otherwise it's Millennium Eyes for the next, maybe Cimo plays Blue Eyes again with the Kaiba pack, and the Mai pack has Lunalights which maybe an ok Prog deck but that's also Toss format era by that point, otherwise the actually good sets and I use the word good loosely, it's the evil hero set, the magicians soul set, and the set with the Lyrilusc cards, that one had Baronne as well that may actually be the best Legendary Duelist set

i haven't looked at the order of cards that cimo milled off that last minerva but if gage had silent honor ark for it that might have changed everything, it wouldnt have triggered minnerva and cimos draw would have been different plus the silent honor ark would have blanked an attack through snow/ made cimo spend resources on castel

I feel like everyone overhypes the whole Red eyes baby into Red Eyes gearfried play. I mean yeah it gets rid of a backrow but at a minus 2, and there isnt really anything you can do next. Red eyes doesnt have too many starters, so when i played it, i mostly got one of the higher stat-ed red eyes, so even if it got killed easily, it was a good stopper if your opponent had a bunch of high Atk monsters going for game. Then next turn i had red eyes fusion fodder to go into some of the better fusions, or better special summons off RedDMD. It was mostly rouge deck type strength, but i still won games about 2/3 of the time. And i almost never used the gearfried combo

Week 56 and with Gage ban ticket incoming it is clear that there's been alot of bans. And with a limited format and these guys struggling to make new decks i say maybe increase the streak of free ban from 3 to 5 or maybe what another comment said to incentivize winning and going on a huge streak. Otherwise we just create a constant will they tie up the series
