By the way, just to let you know about the name of the song : the hashtag #metoo was translating in French by "balance ton porc" (literally denounce you porc) so the name of the song (which can be translated by "denounce your what") is totally referring to the me-too movement

Right! When I had my trip to France that song was everywhere, but literally everywhere. And I didn’t understand a word until I asked my family what it meant and it was kinda confusing at first, but then it made so much sense because they can’t say such words in radios or such. It’s such a cool song

Fun fact : '' balance ton quoi" is a reference to "balance ton porc" which is the equivalent of the "mee too" movement in France/belgium. Balance ton porc means '' tell on your pig" meaning 'denounce your abuser' ' or something

As a french female this song from angele is awesome and empowering . I like the way you reacted ^^. As for French speaking artist I would recommend stromae . A lot of good songs with great meaning And indilla . Not that active but her voice and style are quite nostalgic for French music history. She sometimes makes me think of edith piaf .

Balance ton quoi is about the "Balance ton porc" Movement, it means something like "snitch on that pig" Or " Report that pig" It's the French equivalent of #metoo but in a more active way. It's about women rights and consent

The French #metoo movement was called "Balance ton porc" (get rid of your (inner) pig), this is saying "get rid of your... whatever" i.e. whatever nonsense is holding you back from accepting women as equals or whatever nonsense is making you mistreat them. Good reaction to a song in another language!

Hi TWPK, I would recommand in French Christine and the Queens ("Tilted" (english version) = "Christine" (french version, far better according to most people) and "People I've been sad" (on Colors)). Stromae from Belgium is also great ("Papaouté", "Formidable"). And in English, could you please comment Lila Iké ("Solitude", "I spy"...) Cheers ;)
