From Boston, born and raised. "Bang" = fight or to complete an action like they said. Dunkins, I never once heard nor used that in my life but I'm from the urban side of Boston. Maybe the non urban areas use that (to not be politically correct) only white people say it. Wicked = 100% only the white people use that. Who aren't actually from Boston but the towns outside of Boston but still claim Boston. Never heard anyone younger than 60 say "moxie" and only heard it in mob movies. "Skrew" I've heard it, I don't personally use it though. You don't really hear that in the urban communities. "Rotary" I thought that was the universal term!

Jack Straw yeah, pretty much. Most of the slang words that are used are 80’s 90’s slang that people brought back. I’ll hear a lot of words I thought originated with my generation. Then turn around and hear those same words being used in a urban east coast movie from the early 90’s.

I had a cousin come from NC and asked me why my sister and I didn’t have the “Boston Accent ” I literally said only white people talk like that... Born and raised in Boston and all this “slag” is not used by the people from Mattapan,Roxbury, or Dorchester etc ... Boston is More than the South Boston you see on tv. To everyone who's confused. There are many different kinds of Boston accents and Boston slang terms. The one most people who aren't from here associate with Boston is the Southie Irish-boy accent but generally there are a few main categories of accent/slang: Latinx Boston Slang Black Boston Slang White (Italian) Boston slang And White (Irish) Boston slang....they are all different but have some overlaps. That's why many black people or Hispanic people in these comments who've not grown up around a great deal of white people haven't heard or used all of these words necessarily. A lot of these are also older terms that are less common as the accent fades out/dilutes more and more so younger people are less likely to use them when talking to friends (generally speaking). I was born and raised between Cambridge Boston and Somerville and I can tell you that these all FOR SURE are used a lot, but not in all Boston dialects. These are mostly White Irish working class Bostonian terms.
