I'm not sure if you are still in the area, but there are really cool lava caves in Lassens Volcanic NP in the northern end of the Sierra Nevada. Could make for another interesting video. Great video!

I get hungry every time I hear stories of the Donner party, cant figure out why.

Ive been to truckee and the donner pass museum.

I took these tunnels the last year they were open - 'cause I'm weird like that.

That’s too bad I’m invited to go to the snow tomorrow but don’t want to pay $150 to participate so I was gonna hike this instead. But I don’t have boots, spikes or cramp ons to make this work. Really not tryna be another casualty to the donner pass

The second route was added in 1922.Try doing some research.

I wouldn't go here in winter, even with radios, cars, chains, and dried food, flint ,tents, and matches....oh, and boots, proper clothes, cleats, ropes, guns, etc etc. Nothing could assure me of enjoying this place in winter. Not even helicopter access. How to live 1 week there, never mind 5 months, is beyond me.

Wait what? But we didn’t get to see the tunnels. It says here “Exploring the Donner railroad tunnels”. I want my money back!
