In this #vlog we decided to give you all a little taste of this #beautiful #smalltown near us in #Tuolumne #county It's actually very close to Yosemite National Park and we thoroughly #enjoy the #downtown area.
#sonora #California is known for its #historical connection to the #goldrush Era and you can still pan for #gold in nearby small towns. Fun fact- The designer of Knotts Berry Farm is buried here.
We had the #opportunity to take a look #downstairs in one of the #business locations to get a glimpse of the #underground #tunnel #system which was so #fun
We #eat #pizza drink #beer and just have a #fun day
Join us! And #minglewiththecringles in #Northern #California

Oh wow that must have been fun to see as a little kid! We're not sure that Dillons Bar still exists, we'll have to research and see what it's called now. Thanks for the info! We'll definitely look into it.

I’m new to your channel. I’ve fallen in love with you both already. 😂. Your openness and willingness to share your family history and thoughts are wonderful. I also , am a person of faith, but I respect my fellow humans and their differences in spiritual understanding ❤. I think i might be older , based on the music you mention , but respect! As I love so many genres of music. ( so , I’ve gotten off topic ). But my oldest daughter and my grandson are going on a road trip VERY soon , and wanting to check out different things to see. I’m sold on the bookstore in the basement in the bar : ice-cream store near those freakin awesome mining caves. I started looking up on RU-vid things we could do in the area. And voila ! Found you both ! You mention you are both pretty close to the area. Me too! And I see there’s antique shops! So excited for that too! So. I wish you the best on your channel. You are the only second channel I’ve ever responded to. And I just found you. So yeah. Kudos. Lol. You’re doing something wonderful! Ps. Youre love for your hubby as you talk to him with comments of love. Ohmygoodness. Makes me think of how I talk to my hunny too. Anyway. God bless. And keep on living a freakin awesome life. It’s so worth living!

The window has been there for many, many years. There is a lot more history about the tunnels that you might check out. There was a small Chinese community just two blocks behind where the "Thirsty Prospector" is located. Legend says that there was a brothel/opium den in that neighborhood where business men would sneak through the tunnels for some afternoon delight! It smells wet because Woods Creek flows nearby. Part of it seeps into that area. If you had walked next door jiust past the back of Ben Fig, you would have seen the creekbed that flows underneath the parking lot across the street, then opens up where we can see it. And guess what? I am The Founder of Sonora's 2nd Saturday ART Night. I've lived here for 50+ years. Thanks for visiting our rickety little town.

Lol, I was born in Sonora ❤️ I graduated from Jamestown, El and then moved when I was 16 so it's kind of bitter sweet to go back and discover things I never looked into as a teenager. Awesome on the Art event! We'll have to come check it out sometime. I have heard about the brothel! So funny. Terrible how some people were treated 😕 (The Chinese). I lived in England for a couple of years and visited the "Pit Pony" mines. The baby's would go insane once brought back to the surface, after being in the dark for months at a time. This was also before child labor laws, so small children were used to climb into the dug holes underground to pull put the mined product 💔 Thank you for watching! And for the extra info 🫶

Some of the tunnels were for the Chinese to travel from one property, they were not allowed street level. There isn’t a city underneath.

Sad the way some humans have been treated in history.
