I think the inaugural ceremony did well as far as indicating that be America was young and strong and as the speech mentioned, we can are aware of our heritage as a melting pot. Future events led to other historical reminiscing, and those years left an enduring impression on those who lived them, and also mass media was being employed as never before. Later events have had a tendency to obscure the historical facts in a certain way,, but that causes more debate, one of the more critical be points of the 1960 election.

On January 20, 1961, I was six years old and in the first grade. I barely remember this. On November 22, 1963, I was nine, and in the fourth grade. That day I remember well. President Jack Kennedy was OK. He treated other nations with respect, he skillfully resolved the Cuban Missile Crisis, the economy was good, he worked to ease Cold War tensions, and he signed the Nuclear Test Ban Treaty. A forward-looking fellow. . . .

@fobypawz418
@fobypawz418 3 года назад
@@Anthony-hu3rj I dare to say that it was still better "in some ways" even for them. For Example, take a walk down the streets of L.A. at that time period, the streets were cleaner, people dressed up more and were classier, and blacks and Latinos were not as homeless as they are today, for Gay population, AIDS didn't exist yet, so it probably was better in some ways for them too. If you looked at music vidoes even from the 1970's there's many accounts of Blacks, Whites, Latinos making music together! some of the best music came from their collaborations!

At age 7 during the month of May 1968, I had a lengthy conversation with Chief Justice Earl Warren along with my father, about where he could buy a good ice cream cone after the Oroville Dam Dedication Ceremony. He figured a young boy like me would know. Later that same month I shook hands with RFK at a campaign stop in Yuba City, CA ...Great memories for me as you would imagine. ♥️✌🦅

Those were the days of civility, when the outgoing and incoming president cooperated to make sure the transition of power was smooth, when no one had to worry about viruses or Capitol-storming riffraff, and when presidential inaugurations were events to be savored. What a shame we couldn't have it this time. I hope we will see this comity again someday. Thanks for posting this great footage!
