The UP in Michigan is gorgeous. The western part of full of mountains and mines. Perfect time to the UP before the snows starts, the UP gets a ton of snow.
Back before I was born in the 1930’s, my grandparents who ran a tourist camp and general store in western Maryland aided a young couple from Ironwood. And got them supplied and on their way. It was during the Great Depression and these dear folks had no resources. When they got home, they wrote such a wonderful letter to my grandparents and the correspondence continued even with my Mom. Kindness has its rewards indeed. Thanks for visiting Ironwood.
Hi Russ! Your wonderful video of Ironwood brought back so many memories. I spent 22 winters there testing winter tire performance for Goodyear, out of Akron Ohio; we had a test area at the local airport. The folks and businesses in the Ironwood area were just wonderful and a total pleasure to work with and know. I considered myself a part time Yooper. Thanks again for the superb video!
I ❤ your channel. For people like me that are disabled and cannot travel like you can, your channel lets us travel virtually with you so we see the US the same way you see the US. Thank you from the bottom of my ❤.
We’re watching your ironwood museum. It brings back memories for my husband who probably hasn’t been there in 70 years. Thank you Your videos are very enjoyable
I'm live in the UK and my relatives live in Ironwood and the surrounding area. I've visited the area many times and class it as my second home. Thank you for posting this it's brings back so many happy memories and hopefully I'll visit there next year.I love watching your journeys and they were such a help during Covid. Thank you , Nigel from Cheltenham ,England .
Another beautiful small American town all decked out and very patriotic ! Of course the museum was great, and the highlight was that stained glass door. Thnaks Russ, safe travels.
Have to give a shout out to all volunteers who donate their time to keep history alive. Hoping your travels would include Upper Peninsula. Enjoying your road trip Russ. Thank You.
You have been in my backyard the last few days! And I am really enjoying your trip through WI and Michigan. I recommend Pictured Rocks and Kitch etikippe Springs. Thanks!
Back when I was in OTR driver I made a delivery up into Marquette, MI. I liked what I saw of the UP on that trip. The UP is my favorite part of Michigan. Marquette seemed like a nice town to me.
You missed the murals on the building. Miners that worked those iron ore mines through the yrs. The real history of that area. Plus the logging. I cried when I saw the building where Michigan Bell was. I worked there back in 1958.
Hi Russ! Thanks again for the video of your travels. I need to start venturing north for our vacations. I'm missing out on some beautiful places. I really like your drone footage. Very cool! Isn't this country amazing? Take care and stay safe. Happy Labor Day!
Hey Brother Russell you are doing a fantastic job and thank you so much enjoying the road trip feed stores out here where I live or cold Walmart God bless
I agree, the little local museums are great - thank you foe stopping. This one was interesting to learn about the immigrants that came from Italy and Finland.
I don't know if it's an Omen or a blessing? You flew your drone over my camper in quartzite this last winter , when it was getting the solar installed at Solar Bills, now you're in the Town I just purchased a home in! I was looking for videos of Ironwood right after I submitted my purchase agreement in Ironwood. And your video came up. What's the chance of that?😮❔❓ I decided to end full-time RVing and wound up here. And I just watched you drive past the house??? Bizarre 😮

It's too bad you didn't go through Hurley there's a lot of history in our town. This has been great watching to see everything from a different viewpoint. Safe travels.
Russ, nice video. My late Mother-in-Law grew up in Ironwood in the 1930s. But, you blew right past Hurley, WI. A city with a population of only 1,560 people, but has 25 bars! It was a summer retreat for Chicago mobsters during prohibition. 😊
That Museum is a Harvest Host…you could have camped there for the night!🤗 FYI Absolutely NO cell service in Copper Harbor! There is WiFi at the Chamber of Commerce and in the park surrounding it.
Hey Russ I’m in Quartzsite sorry I missed bug on my way to Texas with the grandkids they all say hello and ask RV there yet lol will see you in Oct for sure travel well my friend take care lance and family
IF you want to take a break from the RV there's a rental in Negaunee called Union Station and you can rent out the entire train depot for the night , couple of bedrooms huge dining area , kitchen . a bit echoey because the floors are concrete so it's similar to staying in a garage. but it's really a nice joint if the weather cooperates. Theres a laundromat up the street that has a sign in the window "NO Mining clothes".... so don't bring your mining clothes. You can overnight at most MDOT rest areas..the one near Detroit on 275 the cops will kick you out because of the drug and prostitution trade and the one in on EB I96 west of grand rapids is just loaded with people overnighting in cars, so much so sometimes you can't find a spot to take a 1 or a 2.
