In 1920s, Tulsa train stations, like the Santa Fe and the Katy, were overflowing with humanity. The Pullman cars carried hundreds of passengers including geologists, accountants, developers, bankers, and dozens of others looking for a better life. Tulsa was Oil Capital of the World, and was home to hundreds of petroleum companies. The families of Tulsa were buying so much clothing, household items, and oil equipment, that the railroads had to impose a limit on how much furniture they would haul to the city
