The contrast in the types of retailers at Utica then versus now is steep! That was truly a middle-America shopping center at one time. It has always been a lovely development and when I visit Tulsa these days, I never miss a drive through there. It's especially lovely during the holiday season. And what a great name for a children's clothing store..."Heaven to Seven"!!! One funny-not-funny thing was the little girl standing up in the convertible as her mother parks...boy times have changed!

I lived close by and always loved utica square. Remember all the stores. Of course it has a new look these days. My favourite was baskin and robbins ice cream parlour and loved browsing in the tg&y

I remember visiting Utica Square at Christmas time as a child in the 70s. I'm grateful for how little it's changed, although the marketing mix is certainly different! I still visit the post office from time to time but have little other reason to go, except nostalgia. Which is reason enough!

I have a bunch of old movies on 8mm I bought at two separate estate sales in the 80s. Some are Frank's and others were of a couple with a new house in Brookside. After buying an old projector and watching them I realized the items at the estate sale were in the couples home. They filmed road trips and vacations. I hope they're not ruined.

Wonderful times, I sure miss the "Humpty Dumpty" grocery store. Many childhood memories from there.

Those were the days. Women wearing dresses and gloves. Kids dressed up too. I remember going with my grandmother to the stores there. And going to see the Nutcracker scenes in their boxes. It wasn't Christmas until we went there and to Children's Medical Center to see their decorations.

When LIFE magazine was at its peak in advertising influence...television was coming on strong, but they still had the edge of color.

Walgreens was in Utica Square years ago, then they move out, then re-opened in Utica Square decades later!

Do you have any films that my father, Merton B. Houston Jr made? He was the stills photographer for KOTV in the 50s. But I know he would also film events in the field, run to have it developed & take it into the studio. He later worked for KTVX / KTUL & also filmed freelance. Dad also attended OK A&M in the 40s & was photography assistant to Haskell Pruett. I've found hundreds of negatives & photographs which I've donated to Tulsa Historical Society & OSU, but did not find any films. I do know of a film titled, "Operation Hi-Power" that Dad made of the construction progress of KOTV's new transmitting tower. He filmed while tied to a headache ball taking him high into the air.

A TG&Y and an Anthony's at Utica Square? Seems weird considering how "upscale" it was by the 1980s.

Yes, plus it had a bowling alley at one time.
