Professor Courtenay Raia lectures on science and religion as historical phenomena that have evolved over time. Examines the earlier mind-set before 1700 when into science fitted elements that came eventually to be seen as magical. THe course also question how Western cosmologies became "disenchanted." Magical tradition.

@mindwis3 I don't think there was a numbering issue. At the end of the last lecture, she mentions a mid-term; in a previous lecture, she says that the mid-term will be in class. There was probably a spot reserved here for each class (perhaps helpful to those who actually attended the class, but possibly confusing for us), and, if so, we haven't missed a lecture-at least that's my hope. Great lecture series. On to the next lecture.

Will lecture 10 become available ? The word "currently" seems to indicate this, but it's a year later now... Don't get me wrong, i'm overflowing with gratitude of all the lectures online... Perhaps it's more of a "give a finger, take a hand" thing :) Tia,

I always wondered what happened to session number 10. I imagine it was either a Q&A session or an exam.

@mindwis3 The beginning of lecture 12 starts as "okay we're going to start lecture 11", so perhaps there is just a numbering issue, and not a missing lecture.... Not sure yet, but quite hopefull i'm still getting "my hand" (see post above :)
