I'm American, but Alpha Flight was always my favorite as a kid in the early 80s (West Coast Avengers were number two). Puck has one of the best personalities of any Marvel character.
Absolutely loved alpha flight Sasquatch to this day is one of my favorite superheroes He's unbelievably powerful a lot of people don't realize just how powerful Sasquatch is he can go toe to toe with the hulk any day of the week and he got more powerful as time went on one of my favorites I don't read marvel comics anymore because social justice has destroyed them the left-wing anti-mayo anti-American anti white people movement has made me not want to read their books but they were awesome back then
I still love Alpha Flight. Sasquatch was always my favorite character. I still have the entire run of the original series, complete with cross overs and annuals. Hard to believe that was 40 years ago.
Tell you what, it’s save the mcu from relying on China’s revenues🤔🤔.And the storyline is original origin story for wolverine and saber tooth, Marina for the anticipatedSubmariner. Guess there gonna scratch how the infinity gems cause mutants and and use Covid as the reason. MCU is done unless there’s Galactus ( done properly) and Beyonder( Secret Wars) anything less is trash!!
I'm Malaysian, and honestly Alpha Flight has been my favourite superhero team since i was 11. And i cant wait for them to get their screen time on the big screen or on disney plus. Come on MCU make it happen sooner
Hi: I believe Alpha Flight, would make a good movie, or series, if they can afford to make it... It would have to be a big budget movie. There are so many plot twist, and good, characters to play with.... MCU, needs to jump on that....
They can easily do a Wolverine meets, joins and battles Alpha Flight movie. They would have to cast a new wolverine tho, as I think Hughe is done with Wolverine now
Alpha Flight casting call! Guardian - Joshua Jackson (Fringe) Heather Hudson - Annie Murphy (Schitt's Creek) Aurora - Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black) Northstar - Gaspard Ulliel (French actor/model) Sasquatch - Seth Rogan (Knocked Up) Shaman - Chaske Spencer (Banshee) Snowbird - Kristen Kreuk (Smallville) Marina - Cara Delevigne (Suicide Squad) This list is totally subjective, and might be hit or miss, but Tatiana Maslany is Dead. On. for Aurora.
I am such a big Alpha Flight Fan! I have the first twelve issues which to me are some of the best. The team went through a lot in their run, but that first dozen issues were really tough. If I ever get to meet Mr. Bryne I definitely want him to sign my issue #1.
I like the name Weapon Alpha. A lot to diggest in regards this awesome team, thanks for the references you included within the video. I enjoyed as well the "What if... Wolverine led Alpha Flight".
I loved Harry and The Henderson’s when I was a kid and I discovered Alpha Flight, along with XForce and Spideman at the time. Sasquatch became a fan favorite at that point.
I have been an Alpha Flight fan for decades . One thing that drew me in was that they are most often seen in action in rural settings , I grew up and still live in a rural area , all the other superheroes are always in action in the big city , that didn’t capture my imagination as a boy running through the woods
Master of the World is such a great underused and lesser-known character. Armored, super-intelligent, powerful, with access to advanced alien technology, he's a essentially a Canada-based Doctor Doom.
I would like Alpha Flight to be incorporated in the MCU. I think the easiest route to go with them is to make them a superhero horror team. They did have all kinds of strange and scary threats such as Scrambler, The Great Beasts and Pestilence so this direction won't be too far fetched. Plus The New Mutants are already leading the charge on this so why not have Alpha Flight come up right behind them?
personally i think its a good way to do an on going series and they wouldn't have to hide the fact that they film in Canada to save money. plus as a Canadian i feel under represented in fiction, you don't see a lot of heroes on the international stage that are from Canada and a lot of times what i see is that stereo type of us acting like lumberjacks and talking with over accented A sounds, we don't all do that, in fact i don't know anyone who sounds like that
Since the Avengers has been somewhat run through, I could see a Alpha Flight brought into an X-Men movie in much the same way as you mentioned, and I discovered them, trying to take back Wolverine. This could give them a platform for their own movie run or series.
It would be nice to see Alpha Flight in a live action film.Provided they got the right director and some decent actors. The last time I saw them outside the comics. Was in an episode of the 90's X men show.
Alpha flight second best team in the MCU another collected series that met demised from my parents who thought comic books was ruining my life. Ive always felt John Byrne took the idea of Vindicator from Space Ghost and swiped a cool canadian logo for the cape and bracelets.
One my dude you got great taste in baseball. An ya alpha flight is a show I'd watch all day on Disney + . Not sure it's big screen worthy. But I love me some alpha
It's has some things that they would struggle with. Vindicator is eerily close to iron man so how to do something original without redoing something we've already seen. Sasquatch could be bad ass or a very cheesy special effect. My personal fav was box ⁵ and the second run of alpha flight. Hudson wife took over as vector. Purple girl, sasquatch who was a man and was turned into a woman. Puck and I think one other guy.
Back in the early nineties I got back into comics for the first time in 15 years, alpha flight and excalibur were my favorite marvel books(Andrew not doreen orr)
@@petersaturday true, do his past interests in his nanny (Rose) James Howellet has a thing for redheads, this seems to further aggravated by the weapon X programming. In one issue of the X men, he admits that he had a erotic dream about Rose, a redhead from Ireland.
I have issues 1-12 bagged and board in my comic collections, there is talk of a Wolverine/Hulk movie that is suppose to feature the Alpha Flight, fingers crossed.
I just recently heard about them from someone talking about them on TikTok. They are badass 🔥 they might take the spot as my #1 favorite superhero team in Marvel 🥰🥰😁😁!
Ive been reading immortal hulk and even know this is the first time alot of these characters are introduced to me personally its cool to see their original stories!
In the MCU they would do better as a streaming show since their story has fragments of reoccurring characters that are already and rumored to be entering the Main stream MCU movie side. Bridging Namor, XMen , Beta Ray Bill, Hulk & Sasquatch etc., etc.
Even though I liked Sabretooth, Lady Deathstrike, & Deadpool as villians in the Hulk vs Wolverine animated movie, I always wanted Alpha Flight to be the ones Bruce & Logan had to team-up against at the end. It'd be interesting to Wolverine escape the teams' grasp because they're too busy trying to contain the Hulk's rampage.
@@JLSComics Thanks. I think when the Hulk "cuts loose" Alpha Flight will have to call both Beta & Gamma Flight for backup (it'll be even more characters for Hulk to run thru--showing just how powerful he is).
great video, I just got the Alpha Flight 6 inch action figure collection and they're great, thanks for this retrospective to accompany the arrival of my friends (I had Sasquatch from an earlier Marvel Legends edition, the apocalypse build a figure).
This is great. I collected the first series of Alpha Flight comics and the original X Men comics they debuted in but I sold them when I grew up lol. All the new stories are news to me. Thanks for the catch up.
@@l3lackStarLiner_GameBoy actually he's like 5' 9" he was cursed over 50 years ago which gives him his current shortened height but has also slowed down his life span somewhat. Thanks for the reply. Ant Man could be shorter. Lol.
Them vs. Tundra!! The original story as a stand alone movie/stream. That way back stories can be fleshed out to bring the audience into the culture of Canadian folklore while deeply diversifying people in general.
Alpha flight was my first Marvel comic series I bought. -This series was responsible for getting me into Marvel comics in the first place. -The original John Byrne version Alpha flight was the best imo.
Me too. I thought they were all mutants which is why i bought it but marvel communicated so poorly and i think it was on purpose. They clearly wanted to capitalize on xmen and mutants and did a very bad job at letting us know they most of them arent. Its not hte end of the world but it greatly diminished my care. I remember the day #1 came out Judging by the cover and asking my comic shop owner, everyone thought it was another xmen family book
I do want them to have their own MCU show on Disney+ Jordan Gavaris could play Northstar (he's a gay Canadian actor; he's best known as Felix from the amazing show "Orphan Black") In fact, I could see a lot of the actors from that show as roles in Alpha Flight.
i think they are very different than the avengers as they have more diversity plus they aren't a public image team like the avengers -they do a lot of shady stuff.
i have like 90 percent of the comments and they are pretty good through and through, they are kind of like the canadian version of west coast avengers quality comics
I read the first couple years of AF, and I actually really liked it (I was a sucker for almost any John Byrne books, really). But man! It got convoluted after I grew up. I can't imagine getting back into comics really. How the same heroes, like Spider-man can stick around as 20-somethings for 70 years stretches credulity more than super powers.
apparently guardian is as smart as Reed Richards or Tony Stark. Marvel has them all rated. All three of them are rated as 6 out of 7 for intelligence. I feel like if he was that smart he should have shown up in big events more often.
Now I've mentioned this on several threads but this is how you intro Alpha Flight: Remember the Wolverine scene in X-Men Apocalypse? The next Wolverine movie should continue right off from there. Show him running for days through the forest before falling from sheer exhaustion and then have James and Heather find him while out on a fishing trip. Heather uses calm words to get him to trust her and then they both take him to department H. He trains with Alpha Flight, they go and fight someone like Tundra, Wendigo or the DreamQueen and then at the end of the movie, show Charles Xavier show up to offer him a place in the X-Men. Think of it, that could set up an X-Men vs. Alpha FLight for the next movie. OR Don't even bring the rest of Alpha FLight yet, show him running for days through the forest before falling from sheer exhaustion and then have James and Heather find him while out on a fishing trip. Heather uses calm words to get him to trust her and then they both take him to department H, James finishes his Vindicator suit while Wolvie continues training, the final battle could be against Wendigo and the Hulk shows up and then you see Hulk vs. Wolverine and then at the end of the movie, Xavier approaches him about joining the X-Men and the next movie could be X-Men vs Alpha Flight.
This team might be 1 of the reasons why I lean more towards Marvel then DC. At least they directly say Canada exists in this universe. When was the last time anyone heard anything about the great white north in DC?
John Bryne said in an interview the first issue of ALPHA-FLIGHT sold 500,000 issues.WOW. NO varient covers,no gimmicks,no first issue copies making a poster, have to buy all 4/5 issues tho.YES,that's a dig at Jim Lee's no.1 X-Men !! LOL.Even tho it did sell 7/8 million copies.THAT'S a record I don't think will ever be topped. NUFF SAID.
Guardian can use that suit to teleport, using the rotation of the planet, thats bad ass. Puck wasnt a dwarf, he had Razor inside of him. As for a movie, it has to have Sasquatch, Puck, Shaman, Guardian, Nemesis, Wire, Diamond Lil, Madison Jefferies (as Box) facing off against Omega Flight(movie 1), the Mystic Beasts (movie 2) and Bedlam (movie 3) but Paste Pot Pete and Power Pack will probably make the MCU first.
I thought the same thing with the Spider-Man’s. 2 of the 3 are played by British actors. Wolverine is played by an Australian. I don’t think they care where the actors are from, as long as they do a great job.
Generally speaking it's irrelevant. Though for those from Quebec I think should be cast from actors from Quebec since that dialect is only found there. A lot of people in Canada speak with the Broad American dialect so an American actor can pass for a Canadian and vice versa. The real key is casting an actor who fits the role and who doesn't have a US regional dialect
