Why do we always want to trace our history to Israel? The Akans were in Egypt. A breakaway tribe from Egypt became Israel. So how do we Akans migrate from a minority tribe Israel? Also, there was nothing like Bono, Ashanti or Fanti. The Akans were yet to be divided as they reached Gold coast. The subdivisions of the Akan group came later. Let's take note.
It is rather troubling to hear from a lot of Akan people too. I think it's this weird need for us to justify our existence and history by the Bible...which I find discouraging because we are still tied to the colonialist mindset where we're holding on to Christianity to try and understand ourselves. But our ancestors lived without it and we definitely did not come from Israel.
Good education plus my great grandfather of my father's side is Nana Boahen Anantuo(Mamponghene)n mother side is Nana Baffour Akoto(Otumfo Kyeame)Rich Culture facts
This history is great but some facts needs a little review..... Guans are not Akans and did not originate from Israel. Guans were originally a Nubians sub-group and has been in present day Ghana since 100 BC. The narrative of most Ghanaians saying Guans had poor leadership is completely wrong. The hierarchy of present Guan societies are based on borrowed structures from the Akans and Mandes as their original structure was different and wasn't helping them. Guans were lead by Priests and would avoid war at all cost including giving up their lands. This allowed new arrivals like the Akans, Ewes, Gas, etc. to rapidly take over without any resistance.
U don't know what u are talking about, u don't know anything about akans saying that Guans are not akans example Anum, Boss they don't learn twi is part of them and aside that they have some kinds of words and similarities.
Guans didn’t live in Nubia .Nubians are mixed . But guans did migrate from Lake chad to Egypt when North Africa was green(Phenotype is there ) . This is fact because linguistically there are still similarities in their language with ours despite their heavy Levantine influence.
@@mahalo675 That's correct and the Chad region was part of Nubia (South Western Nubia). Even till date you will find villages in the region with similarities to those in Ghana. Example Guans say Abri (Akans, say Aburi).
you do know where "freemasonry" started right? don't let the west scare and manipulate your brain, secret societies existed far before they created their lodges
We’ve totally lost our history so there’s no way we will catch up with the pure truth of the people of Akan. As long as you speak the Akan language you are confirmed Akan that’s the most important thing to know.
I am worried about this man's fact Fantis did not come to Central Ghana but Brong ahafo there was no Fanti or Asante during migration from Ghana empire but Akan. Until proper historical research is made Asantes will distort fact
Wagadou that was where the ancient Ghana empire was. Some Akans in ivory and northerners came from those regions after several invasions of the earlier Romans, Greek, Assyrians, Arabs (Turkish, Albanians, kurdish) conquest..
The Guans were not natives. Though, they were first to come but they also migrated to Ghana before the the Akans followed. Don't forget the Akans also came as individual groups to meet here in Ghana.
Africans are always on the binge of telling feel good history. Today ga, akan, ewe etc... are from Israel, from Egypt, from Ancient Ghana, from Sudan. Give us the Academic source. feel good anase stories s)))))
Im referring this message to what Benjamin Amoah said about the Guans. It's wrong for you to call the Guans as Nubians. Guans have never lived in Sudan and there's no any history that states they migrated from Chad. Its the Mole-Dagbon who said they migrated from Chad. The year you said theycame to Ghana shows that you're very ignorant. 100 BC, there was no inhabitants in Ghana. The Guans came first but that was in 15th century just almost the same time as the Akans came. The Gonjas always say that they're from Mali. They migrated from Israel to Egypt and then to Mali. From Mali to Kubi Saleh and to present day Ghana. Gonja traditional practices are that of the Torah. Circumcision, mariage rights, taboos of a woman in her menstual period etc. Even their indigenous names like Moshe, Adama, Dinah, Maata, Dani, Jakoba etc are Hebrew names. And you mentioned that the Guan are Priestley people. That should tell you that they're the true Israelites just like the Igbos.
None of the ethnic. Nations in Ghamaare Israelites. The clai has yet to be made by any of the cultural custodians or fatekeepers. Not has it been presented to and in the it presence at any of the annual festivals. We will know once the festival's cease and are replaced by those that are rooted in Torah for laws and spiritual systems.
