This is our first year homeschooling and I was having the hardest time deciding on a history curriculum for my 4th-8th graders! I just ordered year 1 of this program because of this video. Thank you so much for this video, it helped me so much! I love that there’s an audiobook, I made sure to add that to my order!

We used Year 1 Ancients this year. I used Remember the Days with my 5th and 6th grades and Consider the Years with my 9th graders. I have Year 2 Medieval ready for next year. I wish they had the Consider the Years ready for Medieval. My 9th graders liked that format so much.

I love this curriculum! Their family guide is the best I've ever seen. So many great components to Biblioplan. I highly recommend this as well. I really enjoy seeing years we haven't done yet. Thank you for sharing.

We used ancients this past year from BP and my kids really enjoyed it! They didn’t get bored with Remember the Days at all and the book lists are FANTASTIC! I’m prepping medieval times to start September 2nd!

We loved Medieval! There was so much good church history in there too!

Hi there! Could you share why you prefer Biblioplan over Mystery of History since you've used both?

Question…. Do my students really need two different text books? One is in elementary and one highschool but doesn’t that defeat the purpose of doing history together? When do they come together to work history together?
@thisrothtribe3780
@thisrothtribe3780 Месяц назад
So, my 14 year old daughter read through the high school text on her own and used the cool history work pages to take notes as she read…. She comprehended MUCH MORE than if I was reading it aloud to her. As a result, she really did history on her own, but was studying the same thing as we did. If you want, you could have your high schooler join you guys for any read alouds, maps, and hands on fun while reading their age-appropriate readers and consider the years as a supplement…. But consider the years is MEATY and may be too much to combine with other independent reading selections unless you’ve got a voracious reader who lovvvvvves history.

Do you feel like biblioplan is adequate for US history or do you use something else when you focus on American history.

Do your kids find the textbook engaging? And what age would you start this with?
@thisrothtribe3780
@thisrothtribe3780 Месяц назад
My kids found ancients engaging and informative…. Of course some names all blend together… but none of mine complained… ages 12/13 down to 9/10 were listening in and one of my twins who was 12 and turned 13 at the end beggggged me to let her read the text aloud every day. 😂

Hi!! Can I ask How much reading is in the Biblioplan book during the week? How many minutes do you spend reading each of the three days that is intended to be used? We are using The story of the world now, but wondering if the Biblioplan book would be a good fit for us. Thank you!

You can go on their website and look at sample weeks if that would help.

Ancients only took my 12/13 year old girls about 20 minutes average… very rarely 30 minutes… often less than 20.

Is it possible to do this in 2 days instead of 3 days in a week?
@thisrothtribe3780
@thisrothtribe3780 Месяц назад
You can, but it would be A LOT some days, in my opinion! I’m not Megan, but we did BP ancients last year.

Is this heavily Christian? We are religious, but i know that some curriculums teach that Jesus is God and some teach that they are two separate beings.
@thisrothtribe3780
@thisrothtribe3780 Месяц назад
It comes from a solid Christian worldview where Jesus is a part of the divine Trinity…. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Some suggested reading options are from reformed, catholic, and various other denominational backgrounds, but they’re all optional.

My oldest is a rising 1st grader. What grade would you start this?
@thisrothtribe3780
@thisrothtribe3780 Месяц назад
Imo, I wouldn’t start this until 3-5 grade… before then, reading topical books on historical times and people is sufficient unless you’ve got older kids for the youngers to tag along with! Just my experience as a momma of 11!
@PenniesAndSalt
@PenniesAndSalt Месяц назад
I don’t start formal history until 2nd or 3rd grade. My littles are in the room and we do picture books that correlate but as far as joining in on the lessons I don’t expect them to if they are below 2nd or 3rd
