Real ( you'd go to war over some dude's family issue who was born to be your master, lose your arm and leg and disfigure your face before you reach 25, by the time you return your wife probably birthed 2 children when you haven't seen her since you went to war 3 years before, then die before you turn 30)
@@ZollaREAL That’s way over exaggerating, most people lived well into their fifties, sometimes even sixties, and overall casualties and deaths during wars were far lower back then, and more often than not, came to peace before one side completely decimated the others population. (Not to say it didn’t happen, it just wasn’t as common as today.)
@@homelesskoopa1308 not exaggerating, assuming we're talking about ancient Rome, average life expectancy is 20-33, medieval Europe 30-35, and it will take you a google search to figure this out, most people die of famine, war, and youth death as the majority from illness, low casualties because of low numbers in their armies, medieval Europe kings barely mustered more than 8k at most for their campaigns, and maybe you won't die In battle, but sure would once you return with an amputated arm that is infected, in a time without anti biotics Stop trying to make a time you Wouldn't survive in romantic, you yourself can't even live a normal life today let alone back then
1:00 Byzantine also played very big role in influence but i think south albanian culture is cross influencing epirus greek culture and kinda blends in. Albanian communities in italy kept old illyrian traditions and look not so different from us balkaners
@@NonHerodotus cap this is turkish propaganda. As you even pointed out they forced greeks and bulgars to become janissaries, they were horrible pieces of shit. They were so bad they created the word slave by enslaving so many slavs.
As a turkish, the reasons why were not arab but european:after the near collapse of asian hun empire, turks and hungarians fled to europe, creating the european hun under attilla, after it collapsed,we went to iran, create seljuqids and conquer anatolia
2:54 depends on which kind of christian you are, orthodox christianity (i think there was one more type of christianity ) becomed a official after muslims take over, catholics and others didnt see them as official religion and they were litteraly massacring jews and christians in their own land, soo it really depends, i wont deny that ottomans and other muslim empires took a bit of unfair amount of taxes ( which was used for empire and for jihad ) but it was kind of either paying taxes or going to a war for a religion you dont part of, ( if you ask me they did a mistake by not allowing or supporting non muslims joining to army, but at Prophet Muhammed time there was a accident that caused this decision made by most leaders)
