I definitely like the more recent versions of Hank Henshaw Cyborg Superman and his newer origin story. That he was hopeful Superman would save him and his wife, as he always saves the day. Only to be let down and feel abandoned by the man of steel. It makes a bit more sense than the man of steel helping him and then him randomly going mad because his wife rejected him and blaming Superman despite Superman fulfilling his request to save his wife.
Cyborg Superman is such a powerhouse. Aside from having the Superman powers he's a genius, a technopath, and technically immortal. He even gets his power rings lol
Jesus loved you to die for your sins repent and turn to Christ so that you may have eternal life ❤️. I pray that you take this message seriously your eternity is on the line 🙏🏾❤️.
I can see the inspiration, but that's not really why he's cool though. The Fantastic Four stuff is pretty unneccesary to be honest. I don't know why they used it.🤷♂️
Henshaw is my favorite comic book villain, as you might guess from my name. So it means a lot to finally see him on your channel. Thanks. My only other request is Circe at this point.
Pretty sure Superman took Hank Henshaw out of the Phantom Zone at the end of Tomasi's run. He felt that the Phantom Zone was cruel, and imprisoned Cyborg Superman in the Fortress of Solitude, with Hank's mind in a virtual reality where he can be with his wife.
They can't they failed to do the death Supermen properly and after they did it sort of they didn't do reign of the Supermans storyline after that they just have Justice League but I guess if I do decide it again after you put it after Flashpoint then it is possible
@@profshad3429 what do you mean and yes I'm very where that Lex could do something to have Cyborg Superman in the dceu but other than that what do you have in mind
I always wondered about his behavior towards Doomsday when he threw him into space. His inner monologue seemed genuinely indignant, referring to other heroes on a first name basis.
I’d love to see DC do something creative with Cyborg Superman where he becomes an antihero or something rather than a one note villain that they use every so often for the occasional storyline. Cyborg Supes is an interesting but underrated character. Also what is the music in the background?
Question, why don’t they make Hank look exactly like Superman? I understand that they explain that away saying the robotic parts of him are the result of his fight with Doomsday, but I would’ve just made Hank look exactly like Superman without the robotic parts being revealed. I can see Superman coming back to life to fight the imposter Superman, and during the fight the imposter Superman’s skin slowly falls off after numerous punches from the real Superman, revealing that the imposter is an actual cyborg, cyborg Superman. I literally can see that in a movie.
I think the way did that in the comics was to deepen the mystery...if he looked exactly like Supes we'd all think he was the man of steel right away. But as the Cyborg we all had to pick him or the Visor version. Steel and SuperBoy were never real contenders.
Didn't Superman _technically_ not die in the comics? He just went into some super sleep (ie coma)? It's been a while since I've read The Return of Superman.
That logic is Bullshit he definitely died they just retcon it same with Captain America after he died during post Civil War but came back because retcon his healing Factor saved him Bullshit it's just comic book logic and also kind of a plot convenience
@@anthonyrobles4127 that's exactly my point that makes no sense plus it contradicts what the Death of Superman comic established which was that he was dead literally you can't just come back and Retcon it
I don't why, but I always thought Cyborg Superman was a Silver Age character. I'm honestly shocked it took so long for the Superman writers to think up a robot version of Superman.
That was a really great story. For those who didn't read it, Henshaw (while imprisoned) in the fortress of solitude used his Techno-telepathy to reach out across space to the planet Mogo (home base of the Green Lanterns at the time) and hack the central power battery (all while his powers were dampened). At the same time, recruited an army made up of a race of aliens known as the ravagers who hate the Green Lanterns and their super-powered champion Eon. His attack on the Green Lanterns started by disrupting their communications, causing the weather on Mogo to go crazy, fooling many of the Core members to believe there was a traitor among them, tricking Simon Baz into freeing him, and finally claiming the Phantom Lantern Ring (uber powerful Lantern ring prototype with near limitless power). The only reason the Greens won in the end was a mix of Hal Jordan wielding a ring forged of his own will (and just being Hal Jordan) and some of the other Lanterns having enough time/will/luck to break free, regroup, and win. Just know I only spelled out the story for the others in the chat. I imagine you already read it vmorales225.
@@jonathanbionicle36 i must ask, is it possible that cyborg superman (having kryptonian DNA) can go to the sun and absorb its solar energy like Superman Prime 1 Million? ...will he be able to become immortal himself without robo tech?
@@BrunoFerreira-px8du wow thats really great.. i love seeing these concepts.. i feel like some superheros, and villains, really do have some level of potential to gain cross-universal power.. once i heard poison ivy was somewhat immortal too as she can spread her polen (and her consciousness inside it) and have any other plant life be host.
I remember when the Henshaw Superman was involved in a Superman Fantastic Four crossover, and got involved with Galactus. Given his so-similar origins, I thought it was wild seeing him beside the FF...
I didnt know about Cyborg Superman for very long but once I did, I immediately loved the character! His probably my favorite version of Superman! Fantastic video! Thank you for including the recommended reads!
If I remember correctly didn't he also help with the Destruction of Coast City, Hal Jordan's home town and start the chain of events that cause Hal to be completely possessed by Parallax?
I Remember reading his reveal on Reign Of The Supermen #78 as a kid. To me he was the real Superman, torn apart by Doomsday but brough back to life as a Kryptonian Cyborg. A modern day Frankenstein monster trying to save the people that fear him. I think this was a big missed opportunity by the writers, he just ended up being a regular mustache twirling villain.
They should give us a movie about the 4 S doomdays that fight the 4 other supermen that would be a cool thing to see and have this cyborg Superman go up agenst cybrog Zoral and these 2 should be in injustice 3
I would say Superman vs Terminator Cyborg Superman with all the Superman and Supergirl it's really good for comics I really enjoyed by one. I like that they went back to the 90s with all the Supermen after the death of Superman
I love comic book culture from DC / Marvel or anywhere. Heroes and Villians. But sadly for me I never had access to comic books themselves because I live outside the USA. All my geeky superhero knowledge comes from live action or animated movies (love the DC ones), or from videogames. The reason Im saying this is because thanks to this channel I can catch up to all the amazing stories I have been missing out on all these years, thanks to this guy Ive learned about all the Lantern Corps colors, the Dark Metal universe and the history of some of my favorite characters. So if you've read this so far I just wanted to say thank you.
He was also the main villain of the last Green Lanterns arc, controlling the ravages and messing with the corp rings and getting the phatom lantern ring
Thomas Soderholm He started on the cartoons and then in the comic books they you go no need for a video But I still wanted him to make a video about Batman beyond
Hell yeah I love the animated series and the comic in DC rebirth I'm so bummed we didn't get the movie we almost got it when the animated series was fresh back 2001 but it was cancelled I heard the script was good but the director didn't want to do it because his heart wasn't into it
After the Sinestro Corp War, Cyborg Superman showed up many times most often in green lantern books, you kind of completely Holland over not over portions of his history but also really great stories
You skipped over the part that Cyborg Superman is the one.that destroyed Coast City, essentially responsible for turning Hal into the villain Parallax.
Dude, this should be good. I’m a huge Hank Henshaw fan; he’s definitely an underrated D.C. villain...all while being a hugely powerful influence on the turn of events in both the Return of Superman and the Green Lantern War.
i must ask, is it possible that cyborg superman (having kryptonian DNA) can go to the sun and absorb its solar energy like Superman Prime 1 Million? ...will he be able to become immortal himself without robo tech?
Paulo Cuento he can absorb the energy as he is nearly the clone of superman, but I am saying that only his flesh parts will be having the energy of sun and the robot parts will be just normal metal which are destroyable.
@@kamehameha1033 first of all thank you for the response.....thats what i was thinking too... but it makes me wonder if Cyborg Superman will be able to evolve to Amazo's level of technology with his robot parts? and if so, can he eventually surpass the robot nature of himself? much like how the robot amazo turned himself into "god"? this video has just made me wonder if Cyborg superman can become a hybrid of Superman Prime 1Miliion and Amazo.
Paulo Cuento I highly doubt his cyborg parts will be evolved to level of amzo, because I think his cyborg parts only compensates for the parts of body which were not generated during his creation in Superman's ship.
@Variant Comics ...thanks for the great content.. i must ask, is it possible that cyborg superman (having kryptonian DNA) can go to the sun and absorb its solar energy like *Superman Prime 1 Million?* ...will he be able to become immortal himself without robo tech?
If Lex Luthor had created Cyborg Superman with the motherbox in BVS instead of wasting the Death Of Superman with Doomsday, you'd have your perfect Cyborg set up for Justice League as well as the Motherbox. And maybe Barry can be a CSI working with Lois Lane and he becomes the Flash in the Flash movie, replacing the Suicide Squad film. And they can change Aquaman's origin making him the son of Poseidon, nephew of Zeus and therefor the cousin of Wonder Woman. And Wonder Woman is an old friend of Bruce. There Snyder, I organically "rushed" the universe better than you did.
Yeah but what about the mustache? We need an origin story and how it got the power to rearrange Superman's face? The power it must possess to mess up the man of steels face like that, I need to know if it's magic, science or just the rare power of shitty re-shoots.
