Fun fact: Red Lanterns' rings function as their hearts and if the ring is removed, the (former) owner dies. Also Sinestro was an Ultraviolet Lantern before John was.
unless,if course they are exposed to the blue light of hope: then they are shown a vision of a hopeful future and only then is it safe to remove the ring.
@@wolfgang6442 I've been hoping for a Blackest Night animated adaptation ever since the Emerald Knight and other GL movies!! If they were to introduce just two more corps aside from Green and Yellow, to animated movies they could do a lot more!! Also . . DC . . . Put GL back in the Justice League!!!! Lmao
@@wolfgang6442 yes!! Exactly!!! Like Batman was cool when i was younger but then i grew up lol and we have had so many iterations that I'm kinda Bat-burned out. And the only time GL really got to shine(hehe shine, lantern) is the Ryan Reynolds movie, and after that DC just kinda kicked GL out of the JL and i have hated that. We definitely need more GL, animated or live action, shoot even a new video game!
Maybe if they went with a better animation style. I’m tired of current DC animation styles. Stop aping Bruce Timm without doing quality hand drawn animation or whatever they are doing now… crappy? Needs new art director or something. 🤷🏼♂️ but yes, do lantern corps movie. White lantern saga?
To this day, I think my favorite Lantern Corp will always be the Indigo Lantern Corp. Simply because unlike the other corps, who look for individuals you exert a lot of the emotion related to that Corp (Green Lantern Rings look for people with willpower, Red Lanterns Rage, etc), to be an Indigo Lantern you have to have NO compassion, and the Ring essentially reforms you by forcing you to feel compassion. That's why I unironically want to see people like Joker an Indigo Lantern ring.
The first version of this video you released years ago got me into DC, and the lantern corps throughout the "Blackest Night" arc. R.I.P. man. You'll be missed.
Holy crap your covering Geoff Johns GL run? Man we’re in for a long but really amazing ride . I got to buy this run on comiXology last year and it was wild. For new guys, buckle up cause we’re going in fast.
@@anfalroses Well my idea is kinda like a crossover concept. Ok, so essentially this idea of mine involves the ring to be power by a Soul, meaning it could be use by any individual with a soul, allowing one to be enhance or corrupted, based off the individual soul. It does allow anyone to be part of any core, either a Green Lantern core or a Yellow, etc. Tho, it is commonly related to the Emotional Spectrum or the White Lantern core.
@@Aragorn7884 I actually honestly wish that the current DC authors utilized the different lantern corps. See the blue lantern corps get revived, explore Kyle Rainer's story and see it continue. But alas, the new authors and runs just chose to do something else.
My favorite superhero and mythos right here! From the greens to the black each corps represents something and isn't just a "superhero" but has some kind of meaning definitely need more Lanterns!!
The Phantom ring does not force you to feel emotions it changes depending on your emotional state and the indigo tribe also can use any other part of the emotional spectrum
Back in 2014 this was the first video I ever watched on this channel, been watching ever since. It’s cool to see an updated, version. Thanks for the great content.
Exactly, Qward is the anti matter universe where the anti monitor realm comes from as well as the weapons es of Qward who are both miners and forgers of the yellow element which was the source to create the main yellow lantern central battery when Sinestro came to them to build it for him.
Thank you for the update. I'm a huge Alan Scott fan, and his back story has changed more than most. At one point his battery/ring were the combination of a dragon like Green Lantern's battery and the Starheart. The dragon like Green Lantern had made ancient Chinese people worship him, and the Guardians shifted his ring's weakness from yellow to wood, and he was injured by there clubs. Dying he took off to space and collided with the Starheart. The deviant lantern's battery and the Starheart fused upon re-entry forming the meteor that would eventually be the lantern Alan carved his ring from and used to recharge said ring. Though I like the simplified back story more. =-)
Grey Lantern Corps Emotional Power: Sorrow First Member: David Volgen Oath: "In Painful Day, In Frightful Night No One Will Never Escape Our Spite Those Who Challenge What's Naturally Right Suffer The Power! Grey Lantern's Light"
I learned from this channel actually. Way back in the day, I watched the Blackest Night Saga on this channel and have grown in GL lore so much from there.
I really hope we get more rings for the invisible spectrum it feels really weird to introduce a whole new spectrum and only have 1 lantern Corp in it, but I imagine it being one of the many things a writer introduces and new writers not wanting to touch
Man Geoff John's Green Lantern run was sooo good. It actually introduced interesting factions and villains that got me so interested in Green Lantern that I started reading the series around the Sinestro Corps War and the Rise of the Red Lanterns. :D
can we just talk about how much the guardians of oa suck? like, their entire thing is just imposing their will (no pun intended) on the entire UNIVERSE (to very mixed results) while they just chill on their planet and act better than everyone else.
Hey! can you make more lantern videos? Specifically can you give us comics about the non green lanterns with detail like how the green lanterns have detail? not like the origin stories but actual comics.
Idk if you’ve covered it here, but a great comic series relating to the various Lantern Corps was the Green Lantern crossover with the Abrams Star Trek continuity
If they're expanding the ideas of the lantern corps and emotional spectrum.... There's still a few basic, fundamental emotions that have *nothing* for them. Three in particular come to mind; joy, sorrow, and calm I actually think it'd be kinda neat, personally, if a corp existed for calmness, who's entire thing was to weaken (or completely nullify, if the user's own ability to stay calm and focused was strong enough) any rings in their presence that come from *other* corps. They wouldn't be able to make constructs of their own either, though; their rings would basically just create a field of absolute calm.
I really want a lantern tv show about all of the lanterns features. Not just green lantern and 1 antagonist lantern like yellow or red. I want all of them!!!
I want each earth lantern to become a color other than green for a couple years if not permanently, except Hal he can stay green, we need at least one to stay. Also what happened to the invisible light spectrum that was supposed to explored?
They should make an animated series of films each based on a comic that introduced one or more of the other lantern corpses starting with the sinestro corps war
@YellowSpiderman 2 no there was a comic were Harley Quinn got a Lantern ring which is basically a fusion of a Black Lantern and a Red Lantern ring it was like a one-time thing
the gold ring emption is joy and can only be received you've had the perfect life motging bad can happen to u and u can never gave been upset but it pretty much makes u god
@@realBlueMoonMusic I know but for some reason I don’t have hope. The rumored characters aren’t interesting since there isn’t Hal Jordan and John stewart. I’m sure they will show up but if they don’t the show be as good
I love how some people refer to "sexualized female superheros" when male superheros are just the same... Look at the comic images... Its not about sex and more about perfect physicality, being super-human but still human. Not sure why some people have to bring sex into everything, as if naked sculptures/paintings from history are about sex... Absurd and a double standard. The target audience for comics has always been kids under 18 anyways... Im just so tired of hearing about it... If the dudes are in skin tight outfits so should the women.
Does anyone know if there's a Silver Lantern Corps or a Golden Lantern Corps? If there aren't, there should be. He-Man could be part of the Silver Lanterns, and She-Ra could be part of the Golden Lanterns.
The key difference is the DCeased people are still alive, which means when they are killed they would join the Black Lanterns, while none of the Black Lanterns killed would join the DCeased side.
